The Barkers Hotel & Purrington Inn Pet Resort & Spa — Attraction in Greenacres

Almost the same story as the other review. They quoted me 32 over the phone. There was tons of miscommunication. My dog was up to date on her shots, but a one night visit ended up costing me over $100. They were not upfront about all the charges. The extra charge for the bath, the extra charge because I picked up my dog at 6:15 and not 6. I would have not used them if they were upfront and told me what they charged for. And when I told them I was unhappy, the receptionist said oh well. The staff (minus the front desk) seemed friendly and the facility was nice, however I will not use them again. Over $100 for one night stay for a 10 pound dog is ridiculous!

I will say, after I posted this, I did recieve a phone call from one of the managers. She apologized for what happened and comped me for the extra late charge and invited me back. I will give them a try again. It says a lot about a company when they reach back out to you and they are...

I love their doggie day care and how they post pictures and videos daily and you can also see your dog online. The boarding is a little pricey but worth it because unlike other vet clinics these dogs get to play all day instead of being locked in a cage all day. The extra fees kind of suck too like they have "late night" walking which is at 7pm or else the last time your dog can pee is at 4?! And its mandatory that your dog has to get a bath before you can pick him up which is another 30-something dollars. One other thing that i dont like is that you cant pick up your dog on a sunday from boarding, you have to pay for an extra night and pick him up monday. That really stinks. But overall the prices are worth it and my dog is so exhausted when he comes home that he sleeps for the rest of the day and night and he's still a puppy so it...

We had not boarded our dogs here for a couple of years, and just picked them up yesterday after an 18 day stay. We were very disappointed. The front office staff and whoever picks up the telephone don't really care to provide good customer service, long hold times, shifted from one person to another, calls not returned, etc. They did not follow instructions requested for their stay, and reports on their health and condition were extremely hard to get. No one assumes responsibility for anything. To top this off, they were supposed to have been given (and we were charged for that) a bath before pickup. When we picked them up, our dogs were smelly, sweaty and not clean. After an almost $1500 bill, this is not right. I do not know what happened but management has certainly dropped the ball.
