I was looking for my review from December 2024 which looks like it has been removed. It’s unfortunate the level of customer service at this business which is declining. I have been a customer ten plus years and counting. My dog Mozart & previous dog Kodi has used all services this business has to offer. The managers here are disrespectful the daycare manager Zack is rude and hung up the phone on me two years ago doesn’t take accountability and avoids me when I come in. I had several issues with the lack of care towards my dog last year, disrespectful comments such as the one from December 2924 from the hospital manager Jennifer who didn’t care that I had to wait over thirty plus minutes for a doctor that I didn’t even see because it was beyond ridiculous the wait. The solution here was to let me know there was a wait in advance see how simple that was? Instead of this woman resolving problems it was more important for her to call me problematic because I write google reviews and report their unprofessionalism to their Corperate office who seems to careless & tells me I’m the only one reporting them..why again do you ask us what we think Corperate if it’s a joke? The disrespect is real. I have spent thousands and they only care about the cash they’re making. They get disrespectful the managers(Zack & Jennifer) and think customers are supposed to just be treated any kind of way. Corperate does nothing but side with them and tell you it’s nothing they can do about they people they hired and you’re the problem. Also, they asked me what I want them to do Corperate lol. Is this a joke? I see exactly why these people run ramped and feel as though they can get away with inferior customer service and deliver low class service. I feel as if this is the ghetto!! They take no accountability at all because they know they can do whatever! Jennifer the hospital manager is upset with me about a review? It’s within my right to tell others my experience & to bring up the many issues I’ve had over the last ten years with the previous disrespectful manager which she bought up when she was upset (Jennifer) outloud in front of her staff and customers (disrespectful) .. it should say a lot about your organization and your LACK of conflict resolution. I HAVE NEVER HAD these many issues with any other business! I am a professional woman. Also, Corperate needs fo do better don’t give customers your number or promote your “VCA careclub” which I pay $130 a month for a year but when I tell you about the disrespect going on in your facility you ask me what I want you to do… How about BETTER.. how about staff training.. development? How about a customer service class? How about if there’s a thirty minute wait you let your staff know to let others know instead of me and My dog sitting in a cold room with no WiFi connection how about DO BETTER!! Good day!!! When you ask how was your experience just know I will always tell the truth! Also, STOP getting mad at customers Jennifer for telling the truth on google review that’s why it exist. My google review has NOTHING to do with YOU!! Good day!! You promote “VCAcareclub-(their membership for cats-dogs, I pay $130 monthly) this excludes cost of care & meds… and if you decide to go elsewhere you still have to pay for the annual cost of membership.. which I patronize all year long but lack in customer services make it make sense! Also, this fake concern at the bottom is ridiculous everytime I called corperate they did nothing on many occasions.. you sided with your poor excuses for managers. After I wrote this review I received a follow up phone call from the medical director Dr. Pierce.. You all asked Dr. Pierce to call my phone and tell me due to this review no one felt comfortable to serve me or my dog. You all tried to get me to drop my dog off to be seen without me coming in the building. This is all because your manager Jenifer is rude and has poor communication skills and is condescending.

I have been going to Simmons for a while now, since about 2022, and unfortunately had a bad experience this week. Normally I wouldn't go directly to writing a bad review, but no one I have spoken with there seems to care. A year ago, I went in with my chihuahua for an ear infection. He was given Mometamax ear drops, and they caused him to go completely deaf. We called Simmons, and they had us bring him in immediately and they flushed his ears out, and gave us an ear cleaning solution to continue to flush daily and then weekly at home. It took about 8 weeks, but his hearing came back and we were so relieved. We looked online, and it is a known side effect of Mometamax, but only affects a very small percentage of dogs. All the paperwork with the medicine said that if you experience this side effect, you should discontinue use immediately and never use the same product ever again. That brings us to our current experience. He got another ear infection(he has bad allergies, and tends to get one about once a year), so I brought him in again. I let the vet know about what happened last year, and said he can't have Mometamax. She said she already saw that it was noted in his chart and would give him a different medication. We went home with EAS-Otic ear drops and I thought everything would be fine. After 3 days of this medicine, his hearing was gone again. I went online to see if that had been reported with this medication as well, only to find that EAS-otic has the EXACT same antibiotic that is in Mometamax that is known to cause deafness in dogs sensitive to that antibiotic(Gentamicin). I called Simmons immediately, and they told me no one was available to call me back for 2-3 days and I needed to wait, and it was up to me to decide if I should discontinue the drops. They then basically dismissed me and said I should call back "if it gets any worse". I asked if he's already completely deaf, what is "worse??" The person on the phone then said, "Well you can bring him in Thursday afternoon(2 days later) if you think you need to." I took the appt, but was incredulous at how the person seemed to think this was no big deal. After getting off the phone, I went into their app and saw that they had plenty of appts available for the following day, so I made one and cancelled the Thursday appt. At the appt, they flushed his ears out and then brought me a bill for $300. When I expressed that I was upset, they suggested that they could remove the $150 charge for the cytology test they wanted to do, but still needed to pay the $159 for the re-exam and ear cleaning. I will never come back to this vet, and its very unfortunate to be treated this way after their negligence in prescribing him the same active ingredient that he can't have. I am beating myself up over not reading the ingredients and just trusting the vet that this was a different medication, and just hoping that he will be ok like last time and his hearing will come back.

I had the recent very stressful experience of my dog having a relapse of IMHA(an immune disorder where she destroys her own red blood cells) just a few weeks before my sister’s out of town wedding. She needs 7 medications administered at specific times, and not all together, some liquids, some pills, some with food, some on an empty stomach, and needs a blood test every 2-3 days while in an active relapse. I was recommended to try medical boarding at Simmons by my specialist Mini sees for her IMHA. I cannot say enough about how wonderful they were while I was away for 3 days. They sent me several photos of her daily, with updates about what she was up to and how she was doing, and sent me her blood test results to say she was doing just fine. They made sure she had plenty of attention and interaction with people since she had to be isolated from other dogs the whole time. What was a very scary situation for me turned out amazing, and I plan to transfer all 3 of my dogs from my current vet to here soon. They really went above and beyond, and I couldn’t be more happy and grateful for the care Mini received there.

He was given Mometamax ear drops, and they caused him to go completely deaf. We called Simmons, and they had us bring him in immediately and they flushed his ears out, and gave us an ear cleaning solution to continue to flush daily and then weekly at home. It took about 8 weeks, but his hearing came back and we were so relieved. We looked online, and it is a known side effect of Mometamax, but only affects a very small percentage of dogs. All the paperwork with the medicine said that if you experience this side effect, you should discontinue use immediately and never use the same product ever again. That brings us to our current experience. He got another ear infection(he has bad allergies, and tends to get one about once a year), so I brought him in again. I let the vet know about what happened last year, and said he can't have Mometamax. She said she already saw that it was noted in his chart and would give him a different medication. We went home with EAS-Otic ear drops and I thought everything would be fine. After 3 days of this medicine, his hearing was gone again. I went online to see if that had been reported with this medication as well, only to find that EAS-otic has the EXACT same antibiotic that is in Mometamax that is known to cause deafness in dogs sensitive to that antibiotic(Gentamicin). I called Simmons immediately, and they told me no one was available to call me back for 2-3 days and I needed to wait, and it was up to me to decide if I should discontinue the drops. They then basically dismissed me and said I should call back "if it gets any worse". I asked if he's already completely deaf, what is "worse??" The person on the phone then said, "Well you can bring him in Thursday afternoon(2 days later) if you think you need to." I took the appt, but was incredulous at how the person seemed to think this was no big deal. After getting off the phone, I went into their app and saw that they had plenty of appts available for the following day, so I made one and cancelled the Thursday appt. At the appt, they flushed his ears out and then brought me a bill for $300. When I expressed that I was upset, they suggested that they could remove the $150 charge for the cytology test they wanted to do, but still needed to pay the $159 for the re-exam and ear cleaning.

I will never come back to this vet, and its very unfortunate to be treated this way after their negligence in prescribing him the same active ingredient that he can't have. I am beating myself up over not reading the ingredients and just trusting the vet that this was a different medication, and just hoping that he will be ok like last time and his hearing...

I recently wrote a very negative review about the VCA Simmons and starred them a 1 (I left my initially review below to show the concerns I had. ) I have to say I am very impressed with how this company addressed my concerns I usually don’t change a review, but they put forth a huge effort to clarify my concerns.

I received phone calls from both the manager on the hotel as well as the vet side to reconcile the issues. A lot of the issues were miscommunication and they apologized profusely and tried to offer solutions While some things were not correctable at this point they did do the best they could with the situation. My original plan was to seek out another vet and find another boarding place, but I really felt like the staff genuinely cared and wanted to make things better or make things right

It’s been my past experience that you write a review and it doesn’t go anywhere. But that was not the case with this company I feel like they all really love the place that they work and and care about their clients (both the people and pets) For that reason I will be giving this place a 2nd chance and hope to write a future great review My neighbors love this place as I said before and highly recommended them. I can see why. Despite the fact we got off to a rough start they really took every action they could to make to Better I am hopeful that this will be a great place for us.

Do not bring your pet here!!!!!! We took our huskie/Shepard 16 month old dog/puppy here for boarding We were told he needed to be in between 7-12 to be seen by the vet for updated vaccines and a wellness check first After 5 phone calls and 9 hours of sitting in the vet side I finally spoke to a tech who said he was being trialed in the playground Never got a call from the vet My son got a call from another tech to say he was too much for the other dogs and wouldn’t be allowed out for play the rest of the boarding with the other dogs I was also told there would be a link to check photos . Not a single shot of him No updates from any of the staff I picked him up after 3 days Still had to ask how is vet visit went only to be told that his hookworm test was positive Thank god I asked Never started him on meds or recommended treatment They would have let me go home with no treatment So 700 dollars later my dog is finally home Could have paid for a private dog walker and he would have gotten better treatment I opted for this place for socialization and he got none of that Which is a real shame because we have neighbors who take there dog here and highly recommend them Definitely a disappointment and put a strain on our trip being worried about...
