City Line Driving School — Attraction in Hackensack

If I could give a negative 5 star rating I would. Hired them to do an hours worth of practice for 65.00 followed by taking my child for the test for $125.00. Test was scheduled for 10:00am. After I had to call several times, I was told instructor was running behind but would be there by 9:30 and testing wouldn’t be a problem as the appointment time set by dmv wasn’t set in stone if u show up with driving school. Instructor didn’t arrive at my house til 9:56, in an effort to not make my child even more nervous or upset, I didn’t make an issue of anything at that time. Making an already nervous and anxious child wait additional time because you can’t be on time and do the job I hired u to do is unacceptable. The instructor made sure to confirm my payment before leaving my house at 9:58. I again asked about my child getting the hour practice and was assured the hour practice wasn’t a problem. Well I was at the dmv at 10:52 and my child was second in line in about a 7 car line.. Maybe I can’t do math but at that point i was lucky if my child had 35 mins of practice of the hour I had paid for. Like the 125.00 I pd for them to take my child for the test should have covered the 15 mins travel time there as well as the time it took for the test. Needless to say my child was not prepared for the two most important parts of the test. Mind you, I already pd this company previously the 350.00 for the 6 hour course my child completed in which I was told would be enough knowledge to be prepared for test day. I did the extra class in addition to taking her out daily just to practice driving as practicing parking and k turns I felt was better left to professionals. I know better now and should have saved the money and made a point of just teaching my child myself. If you are seriously considering this company for your child’s road test. DONT! I honestly feel my child was set up for failure by the instructor who was more concerned with their own child’s current predicament then the child they were paid...

I booked a half-hour practice before my road test and it was one of the best decisions I made! Tom was an amazing instructor! He explained everything thoroughly, gave me so many helpful tips specific to the test course, and even went over the possible routes the examiner might take so I wouldn’t get confused on the road (something my previous driving school never did).

In such a short amount of time, I learned so much. Tom kept encouraging me throughout the lesson, which really helped build my confidence every time I practiced. Thanks to his guidance, I went into the test prepared and confident — and I PASSED!!!!

I did the 6 hours with Tom at City Line Driving School, and it was the best decision I could’ve made. I had zero driving knowledge before starting, and just 5 days later I took my road test and passed. Tom was absolutely amazing, patient, calm, and so supportive. He explained everything clearly and never once made me feel nervous or judged. Instead, he built up my confidence every step of the way.
