I visited California last week on a company trip and was fortunate to visit 'Half Moon Bay' - certainly one of the most beautiful places in California. Thanks to Abhishek, my dear friend settled in California. I would never ever forget the scenic beauty of the drive which takes you to Half Moon Bay from Mountainview and more so, I will never forget the countryside feel and beauty of Half Moon Bay - especially of the 604 Main Street, where each and every shop has something unique to offer. Where the walls of the buildings are blessed with the graffiti artwork by the world's most awesome artists and the cafe's brewing with warmth and hospitality.
Moonside Bakery and Cafe has such a nice ambiance that you will fall in love with the place. I believe that food and beverage become immaterial if the ambiance of cafe offer you with an atmosphere where you can sit, relax and talk endlessly. The town hall sort of setting just besides the cafe, where artists come and voluntarily play to support social causes, adds a different aura and feel to the place.
I feel blessed to have visited such a beautiful place on earth and would recommend all to visit it, if you pay a visit to Half...
Read moreWe ordered two tuna melts, one with a green salad; the other potato salad. The tuna melt bread was not limp, but not grilled or even toasted. The tuna salad leaned toward a lemon/tart flavor. The melts were served open-faced which we expected per the menu description but the restaurant placed a second piece of plain bread underneath the piece that held the tuna. Very strange presentation. The potato salad had an off tasting spice in it - threw it out; not a typical potato salad side. Green salad side was fresh and plentiful, however.
The bakery had a wide selection of German themed cookies which brought back memories of the bunter tellers my mother would present at Christmas. Bought a dozen of the cinnamon stars to eat on the road trip. Horrible. No flavor and weird texture. Tossed.
Used to come to this place years ago when I lived in the Bay Area. It is definitely not the same quality or atmosphere -- customers have to view a disheveled kitchen area waiting for takeout. Everything is crowded and seems tired. Order also took forever to receive.

Read moreSo many perfectly created delicacies with quality ingredients made fresh.... You may find it impossible to choose. In that case, go for the carrot cake. It's incredible. I can't say it's the best thing, because honestly once I tasted it, I stopped considering the other options. It's that good. So good we had it for our wedding cake. Yes, Isidro, the owner, made the most spectacular wedding cake for us, a gorgeous, delicious, double-decker crossword puzzle cake with black and white fondant, complete with numbers. His attention to detail and the quality of the ingredients + his expertise and passion for interesting creations make the moonside bakery and cafe the Best. Stopped by today, twelve years later and the carrot cake is still all that! Also of note , the Apple Brie sandwich-- excellent-- and all the breakfasts fresh and so good looking. Staff are friendly, attentive, kind, and very hard working. Wish I could eat here every day! I give my highest recommendation for the quality of their wedding cakes and how easy and nice the team there are...
