So I would have never stepped inside this farmers market had it not been for one particular experience I had a few months ago. While making my way back home from the nearby Publix I couldn't help but notice a girl far away who seemed to be working in front of the market. Although I was pretty far I instantly thought there was something special about this one particular girl. Something I thought, but not sure what and well, as I got closer sure enough, she was star-like glowing. Not sure how in all my years alive I had never seen such true beauty. Seriously. The kind you just cant ever accurately describe with words. As I walked passed her I gasped. Surprised. To my disbelief and shocked at how amazingly perfect everything about her was. I walked a few meters more before abruptly turning around to get one last look. I must be hallucinating or am i seeing things because there just CANT be anyone THAT beautiful. There just can't be. I went home traumantized but now I'm a frequent shopper here and luckily the few interactions with this beautiful woman make the days much better. But I could never really tell her that. And I would never summon up enough courage to ask for her name. But nevertheless this place deserves way more than 5...
Read morePrices used to be less than other supermarkets, now it's just TOO EXPENSIVE. Some things cost more than other expensive markets.
Today threw away 2 lbs of fruit which I bought at LA Hacienda market 2 days ago. All rotten.
Today threw away about a third of blueberries box, which was bought there 2 days ago.
Last week had to throw away 4 full heads of garlic, which were bought a few days before that day...
So in short, THE QUALITY of some PRODUCE in La Hacienda market IS NOT FRESH. Some of it is OLD FRUITS AND VEGETABLES Lots of what you pay for is old and you'll have to throw it away before being able to eat it.
used to buy everything here, but now, as they've raised prices so much, I only buy what's reasonably priced. The rest I buy in other places. My bills there went from $100 a week to about $35 a week, as I no longer buy as much there as I used to. $3 for one single Asian pear, for example (really??! I'd pay maximum $2.5 for two of these). Or $9.30 for a babka, seriously??! That sounds like double of what a single cake should cost.
Workers here are very kind and helpful.
If you inspect items well before buying, it is, despite of selling some old products, a good, nicely...
I could not be more surprised or delighted to find this gem in my backyard!
The prices are unbeatable for the most part, the quality is excellent, the selection is quite varied including and organic produce section.
Quick examples are bananas were two pounds for a dollar, Hass avocados were $0.69 each on the day that I went.
They also have a smoothie section. It looks like you can choose your own fruits and create your own smoothie. Cut up prepared fruit was also available in the same section at a fraction of the price that Publix or Winn-Dixie charges.
It was quite busy the day that I went, yet the checkout process went smoothly with courteous people at the registers.
They also carry a selection of international items, as well as cheeses and dairy products.
Really, the only thing that was missing from the whole experience was protein. Luckily, Publix is right next door and Winn Dixie is right across from the street so I was able to run in and out to create an entire meal.
I love to cook, and I love produce so for sure I will be frequent taking disestablishment. My hope is that they will continue the same quality and service in the future as they have now upon...
