During my recent trip to HallandaleI had the pleasure of visiting the Pegasus Statue, a breathtaking 110-foot bronze statue that left a lasting impression. Located at the Gulfstream Park, this colossal statue of Pegasus battling a dragon is not just a piece of art but a testament to human creativity and engineering.
As I approached the park, the sheer size of the statue caught my attention from a distance. It's hard to miss, towering over the surrounding area. Up close, the intricate details of both Pegasus and the dragon were awe-inspiring. The artists captured the dynamic movement and fierce expressions perfectly, making the scene come alive.
The surroundings of the Pegasus Statue are beautifully maintained. The lush greenery and well-manicured lawns provided a serene atmosphere, perfect for a leisurely stroll. There are several benches around, allowing visitors to sit and admire the statue from different angles. I found myself spending quite a bit of time there, simply soaking in the magnificence of the sculpture and the peaceful environment.
One of the highlights of my visit was learning about the statue's construction and significance. The information plaques around the statue offer interesting insights into the creation process and the mythological symbolism behind Pegasus and the dragon. It added a deeper layer of appreciation for the artwork.
In addition to the statue, Gulfstream Park offers a variety of entertainment options. I enjoyed a delightful meal at one of the nearby restaurants, which provided a great view of the statue. The park also has a casino and horse racing track, adding to the overall experience.
Visiting the Pegasus Statue was a memorable part of my trip to Hallandale. Whether you're an art enthusiast, a fan of mythology, or simply looking for a unique landmark to visit, this statue is definitely worth seeing. It combines artistic beauty with a sense...
Read moreWell, this was a conundrum and disappointment. Couldn't find any information online about this place, so drove there on a whim (almost an hour each way from downtown Miami). It apparently has some sort of spectacular show at times, but when I was there at 9:15 p.m. on a weekday night, they had no lighting on the statue whatsoever, although the gate was unlocked and I was able to walk around the deserted site in the dark. There are no signs at the Pegasus about its hours or when it is lit or when the shows are or anything of the sort. There was plenty of free parking directly across the street south of the statue site in a shopping area towards the Container Store (the gate/entrance is also on that side of the statue; south side). It was a big disappointment that they didn't even have lighting on the statue. I guess it will remain a mystery!
If this was helpful to you or saved you a trip, I would appreciate a quick like or...
Read moreWOW!!!! This exhibit was Amazing!!! I just happened to be visiting a friend in Miami, when I drive past it. I had to pull over and gawk in amazement at the size of this thing. I am a photographer by hobby and I had to jump out and start shooting. As I did, the waterfalls and music started to play. Andre Bocelli, one of my very favorites. I was stopped as the music rang out through the open air, for all to hear, then the dragon made a loud roar and Fire came billowing out of its mouth. Impressed, to say the least. I felt that good fortune had fallen upon me as it all happened by matter of chance. I too my hat in thanks to those who put this exhibit together. It was a highlight of my trip!!! Thank You!!! If you're in Miami make a point to go see this Amazing...
