I love what Hamilton is doing with the community but I still think the people itself should come together a lil more to help the homeless situation I have so many ideas that we should try to put in motion to help because I'm homeless and it's no fault but my own it's just really hard since the covid to bounce back. We need more people to turn houses into sleeping rooms with staff on site to make sure people are doing what they need to do to get on their feet so they don't get turned into drug houses and stuff like that. Anyways it's just my opinion please be careful before you judge me cuz you really dont know my situation not walked in my shoes to know how I git where I'm at an at just know that I did not just plan to be homeless I was in college worked full time and had dean's list in college so please be nice with comments some people are so cruel anyways we also need to turn every park into a place kids can go and have fun and learn and interact without cell phonesor video games we should have party in the park one night a week and have local bands play at the parks and activities for kids and teenagers work at them and learn responsibility have neighborhood meetings and have debates and discussions on what we can do to improve our community talk about issues that we see going on stuff like that would be great for a place like Hamilton to start doing. I also think we need to build lil self sufficient apartment complexes that are for the homeless and poor people that sustain themselves because the people who live there work there and build gardens and take care of chickens and livestock so we have our own food and things like that maybe it will create stuff to sell that would help pay the bills idk it's...
Read moreMarcum Park in Hamilton is a great setting for kids to play and explore with so much to see and do. It offers handicap access, and is nestled on a square with low posted traffic, and curbside parking developed with people and safety in mind. On the outskirts of the Historic German Village area, Marcum Park has water jets and pools for kids, and pets to cool off, and lush green grass to play on. It also sets beside the River's Edge outdoor music venue where the entire community can watch shows throughout the season. Bands like the Eagle's Project, Whimmydiddle, Scotty Bratcher, or former groups like Magic Lightning Boys/Brass Owl will entertain and mesmerize with pro level musicianship. Through a combo of paid and volunteers it offers general admission free concerts, with tickets being available for better seating. So whether you plan to walk your pet, pass a frisbee, give the kids some stress-free time, take a walk, or see a band, this is a beautiful part of the community. Bring a chair, or a blanket, and support their Facebook page for a list of groups. Local vendors like Neals Barbeque and others are present to purchase food for events, and alcoholic beverages are allowed to be served. It is listed and posted as being a Tobacco Free area. This of course does not stop everyone from smoking or vaping, but is limited to...
Read moreI came to enjoy the evening with my girlfriend to enjoy a picnic after a nice bike ride. I had a backpack on that contained a blanket, food and drinks and found a little kitten. While lounging back on the blanket I was approached by a police officer. He told me that I had to "keep it moving" . Where the problem with this was is I hadnt been bothering anyone or anything to cause a problem . I was laying on the blanket playing with the kitten. I felt like I was being targeted for absolutely no reason at all. Even if I had been sleeping where I was (which i wasnt) that its not a crime to sleep in a park from 9am-9pm. The police are getting out of hand bullying people from being able to enjoy themselves at that park. The people that live near that park are also very rude. The park is meant to be enjoyed by the public as long as no crime is being committed or somebody getting hurt then people and police should mind their own business and keep rude comments about how one may look to themselves and let everyone enjoy themselves. Other than the police and rude snobby people that occasionally think they own the park its really a...
