Talk about being sensitive; it seemed like everything bothered the person at the register when I went to ask about purchasing a key lime cake. I took my 4 year old with me, and the girl at the register kept her attention on him rather than to conduct the business at hand; she kept telling me that he was touching the glass on the table set and the decorations on the table as well. As I was trying ask questions, a waiter kept on telling me excuse me, because it seems the to be that the register is right at the doorway to the dinning area in the front; not a good place for your register. I had to but a slice of key lime cake to try it out, to see if I was going to buy the whole cake, but the cake wasn't to my liking. I will not be going back to this place and will not buy a cake from them at all. The young girl with glasses at the front ruined my experience. Well, Carol G, or should I say owner of Antigua Cafe, my son was not annoying anyone, and I was mindful of him throughout my time there. My son couldn't have been a distraction to anyone because he was just standing there silently, admiring the decorations on one of the dinning tables. The only person that the seemed to be annoyed was rude girl with glasses at the register. I resent the fact anyone would suggest that my son was annoying and the I was not mindful of him; that is completely and total lie on whoever made that statement. Bottom line, the staff was rude and your key lime was not tasty at all. I will definitely...
Read moreToday was my first visit to this charming gem in Harlingen, and it certainly won’t be my last. Tucked inside a quaint and welcoming little house, stepping through the door felt like walking into a warm and cozy home, with the hostess greeting us warmly. We sat in one of the back rooms, and the ambiance transported us straight into a romantic tea party, surrounded by vintage decor that perfectly suits the place’s name. The service was attentive and prompt, and the food was incredibly fresh and flavorful. I had their famous chicken salad sandwich, paired with a nutty salad—both comforting and delicious. The broccoli cheddar soup was like a warm hug for the taste buds, hearty and full of flavor. What made the experience even more special was the owner personally greeting us, making us feel truly welcome, and tempting us with the dessert menu—a weakness of mine! I couldn’t resist the lemon lush: fresh, citrusy, and heavenly fluffy. Every detail of today’s visit...
Read moreNeed to order and pay in advance if you are on your lunch break. Waitress are kind but service is not good. Had lunch with daughter today on our lunch break and 49 minutes later we still had not seen our meal. We were only offered our beverage once the whole time we were there. I had to finally get up and ask to have my meal to go. I asked the cashier for a discount and was told they did not do that, I asked to speak to management and owner said she was to busy to talk to me. Cashier gives me a $3.00 discount and manager comes out to tell me that she was very busy in the kitchen. Long story short after questioning why a $3.00 discount the owner/ manager then tells me well what kind of discount do you want you are taking your food. I explained yes because I did not get to eat it here. Never again will I give Antiguas my business especially when the owner does not appreciate...
