Review for Other Customers: I was here once a year ago getting a coffee with a friend and having a chat. It was lovely. I loved the atmosphere and appreciated that they stay open late. The coffee was good and had a variety of options. Now that I work from home regularly I was excited to have a quaint local spot to go to that wasnât 20 min away. The sign out front says âCoffee Lounge and Restaurant.â Apparently theyâre just a restaurant though. I went to have what wouldâve been a 1.5 hour meeting with someone, planning to also order food and a drink. When I pulled out my laptop, the owner came over and rudely told me that I couldnât have my laptop out and if I wanted to, Iâd have to leave and go to the coffee place down the street. So I left. Imagine that. I wouldâve been there for the average amount of time a table usually eats at a restaurant, was going to order a normal amount product, and they chose to send me to their competitor because my laptop wouldâve been on the table. The whole place was empty except for 2 other tables at 7pm at night, so I wasnât halting their business at all either. Plus I wouldâve been back at least once a week when I wfh, but now Iâll never come again. Theyâre obviously just a restaurant, not a coffee lounge. And by the looks of some of the other comments here and experiences friends told me afterwards about KTB, it seems theyâre usually much ruder and have other bizarre standards than what I came across. Heard multiple people had rude interactions with the owner, because they only ordered coffee and no food.
Notes to the Owner: Iâm very conscientious about not trying to overstay in coffee shops, and if I do stay longer, order more or tip well to compensate. After all, coffee shops are trying to make a living and I appreciate what they offer to the community. Obviously some people take advantage. If you feel you need to, a simple and kind notice of âif youâre going to work here for longer than an hour, we require a purchase minimumâ would suffice and be understandable to nearly everyone. Or put a 2 hr time limit. Or set a certain section of the lounge as a lounge space, and reserve the rest for the restaurant portion.
If you donât want it to operate like a coffee lounge, change your sign. And if you wonât do that, at the very least drop the attitude, because clearly many people donât understand and your business model is not self...
Read moreHorrible customer service⌠we were a group of 9 and ordered food and drinks. After an hour a Caucasian lady came out and told us to pay and leave because there were no more seats and tables left. Remind you the store was large and besides us there were 2 tables with people eating their meals. Most of the store had over 6 tables empty yet she insisted we leave. Not only we nearly suffocated from the horrible smell or burning food coming from the kitchen but we were asked in a rude and aggressive manner to go when we didnât even finish out drinks. The lady must be the owner because her kids were in the place going from table to table and I donât mind it, however she mentioned that it wasnât professional to bring my laptop to her cafe which doesnât make sense. Then she proceeded to stare us down along with her husband and when we stared back she hid in the kitchen lol. Go to KTB if you want to be harassed, embarrassed in-front of your guests and kicked out! P.S I went there before and this was my second and last visit. For both visits we waited over 30 min to order food.
Reply to owner: We were not over 20 people please do not lie, I have pictures as proof.... Now I am 100% sure most of your reply's and positive reviews are BS. Food was done after food we ordered drinks and didn't even get to finish them bc of the nasty stares and aggressive behavior telling us to leave. Plus it was our first visit so we were not aware that your "cafe" has restrictions on what we can and can't discuss lol. As everyone can see we took up 2 small tables since we were a group and it only got busy when we were about to leave, look at the back its empty....The only time my group left the table was to use the bathroom, another lie there.... And what mess do you see on the table???? I thought we didn't order anything but drinks? Good luck having the business last a while, keep up the good work, bc you definitely will lose and have lost many of customers. Its such a shame you are running a business, take care wishing your family well for the sake...
Read moreA Disappointing Experience at KB Restaurant and Lounge
Rating: âď¸ (1 out of 5)
I visited KB Restaurant and Lounge on May 8, 2024, and unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. The customer service was, to put it mildly, disappointing.
I ordered the Egg Whites, Avocado, and Swiss Sandwich from the breakfast menu. Regrettably, the meal did not meet my expectations. The potatoes were hard, and the egg whites lacked flavor, rendering the dish tasteless.
Adding to the subpar meal was the unwelcoming atmosphere. I felt as though my presence was unwanted. The waitress was not only unfriendly but also extremely rude. Despite the restaurant's stated hours of operation being from 9:00 AM to 12:00 AM, I was asked to leave at 4:07 PM.
When I suggested moving outside to continue my work, where tables and chairs were set up for customers, I was told that it wouldn't matter where I sat because the front door would be closed.
While it would be easy to assume that the restaurant's attitude was influenced by personal bias, I choose to believe that they were simply having a slow and difficult day.
I hope that my experience was an isolated incident and not indicative of the usual service at KB Restaurant and Lounge. If anyone else has had a similar experience, I would appreciate hearing about it.
Remember, it's important to share your experiences to help others make informed decisions. I hope your future dining experiences are...
