Kona Sales department is a joke. Specifically stated to them what bike I wanted. Spoke to them several times for 3 days straight trying to get the financing in order. Follow up calls were never made as stated by them leaving me up in the air on what was needed to be brought in and the status of the application. Agreed to come in on the 4th day to finalize the financing and purchase the bike but came in to find out the bike they said was in stock was sold the prior day. Just one bad experience after another. They couldnât find our finance application, then after finding it they couldnât find the co-signers information. Came in and they said we needed paperwork (luckily I was expecting that) after getting the financing approved we walked out to the sales floor where he told us to chose a bike and thatâs all he had. I asked him about the bike we listing on the finance application and the bike weâve been inquiring about for 3 days. He told me that we didnât reserve or place a down payment on a bike so he wasnât obligated to hold one for me. I told him he didnât offer that option to me and he knew we were coming in to purchase that bike. He basically said thereâs nothing he can do and we just have to pick one from what he got. I told him he was a one of a kind sales man and I want someone who actually listens to their customers. The other sales man was more talkative and informed us that they did have another shipment arriving the following week. He gave us the option to wait for the next shipment or pick from the showroom. Customer service was very poor at this establishment which is sad because they are really the only ones on the Kona side that you can get these bikes. There was no compassion for selling the bike we wanted, no compensation for failing to offer us the option to reserve, no compensation on having to purchase a bike from the showroom since we had obligations that relied on that bike. It seemed as if we were stereotyped as been two young males that are wasting their time or at least thatâs the...
Read moreI bought a slightly used Zero from Kiser and have been loving it for a few months. A couple weeks ago the power went completely dark and I got a friend with a trailer to come pick me up and take me back home. The following day I stopped by the Kiser shop and talked with the gang at the service department. I'm aware they don't typically work on electric bikes, but they said they'd give it a look. My hope was it something simple-- a firmware reboot, or a bad connection. If it turned out to be something only a warranty repair could handle and it needed to be shipped to Cycle City on Maui I was hoping for a little assistance (that of course I would pay for) with the process.
The appointment was made and confirmed twice because my friend only had limited access to the trailer. I helped load the bike at my house and knowing the appointment was all set my friend said I didn't need to go with him-- he'd just take it down. He got there and the service team helped him unload it when Mark the manager came over and told him to load it back up-- "we don't work on those bikes." My friend had come from Waimea, picked up the bike in Waikoloa, taken it to Kona and was now, in the most unfriendly terms, being told to essentially get it out of there. Picking me up in the first place and then taking it down to Kona was an effort. I paid my friend $150 bucks for the two days of trouble-- cheap actually!!
Sure would have been nice to know they wouldn't even give it a cursory look after selling it to me BEFORE bringing it down. And once it was there (with a small concession to the scheduling error) it sure would have gone a long way to get a little, just a little, help from Mark with next steps. The rest of the...
Read moreCame in for a safety check and told us we needed new tires. Charged us about $900 for new tires and installation and two days later, my husband almost got into an accident because the NEW tires went flat. Turned around and said itâs because the rims were rusted. How on earth did the OLD tires last for years and months without going flat?!! He says itâs because the tire pressure has been low so it hasnât been touching the rim. Yes, but your tech guys added air to it during the safety inspection and we drove it around for 3 weeks while waiting for the new tires with NO problem!!! But when you put the new tires, it became flat the next day!! We had to get it towed to them. And they had the audacity to charge us for the tow truck!!!! Feeling entitled and taking advantage of the locals just because they are the only motorcycle shop in Kona!!! The way the manager spoke to us was very unprofessional and even walked away because they Didnât want to accept blame or be liable for anything! Absolutely no aloha!! Doesnât even deserve a one star. Disgusted and...
