This is a low-end hotel, with basic rooms and poor service, trying to pose as a high-end resort. Basic amenities like a microwave oven and a full-length mirror were missing from the room. The room itself was very outdated (felt like a motel room with tiny beds and outdated furnishings and television). The lack of microwave makes it unfriendly for families with small children- there is no way to heat up milk. Also, there is no room service and no convenience store where you can get milk anywhere on the property. Overall it seems this was designed by someone who has no kids - there is nothing for the kids to do on the property, except for the pool. No activity center or play areas. The coffee maker leaked from the second opening, as other commenters noted (there are two slots for cups, and you choose one cup or two cups - and it leaks from the second one even if you choose one cup). The television remote was a generic one which did not work with the cable guide. So there was no way to move through the guide or go back to the guide from another channel). The refrigerator was ancient and falling apart. The seal on the door wasn’t perfect, so the compressor never shut off. As such, food in the back kept freezing and food in the front was warm. The restaurant has the same, identical menu for every day of the week, and the menu is the same for lunch and dinner. And there is exactly one vegan / vegetarian dish on the menu. Which meant that one cannot eat both lunch and dinner there unless you eat the same dish twice in a day. Seriously, how hard is it to stock a bit of impossible burger and tofu? The gym is nice (looks newly renovated) but is tiny for the size of the property. There is one of every equipment (except for two treadmills and two ellipticals) and it gets fairly crowded in the mornings. For this size of property I’d expect at least 3x the size of gym. The luau was nice (but is a paid activity so it’s not exactly part of this review) but the vegetarian / vegan food problems expanded there as well. For $200 we got to eat plain rice, a little pasta salad, and soggy vegetables. No protein, even as there were proteins of every other kind. Overall, the place wants to pose as an all inclusive resort but falls incredibly short.

Edit in response to management response: so instead of acknowledging the shortcomings, I got a lawyer- esque response saying “everything was listed somewhere”. It appears this place is proud to offer no solutions for families with young children, or vegans and vegetarians. I’d say this attitude makes it worse! Instead of saying, “I acknowledge there isn’t a vegan protein on our luau menu and we’ll fix it going forward”, the response is “you shouldn’t have come if you wanted vegan”! Does your website also inform visitors that the tv remote doesn’t work with the TV, and that the gym is tiny, and the coffee maker leaks? All right, if that’s the attitude, I stand by my review and will share it as much as I can to inform other visitors.
