A friend and I were planning on getting pedicures to celebrate our birthdays. We didn’t know where to go since we haven’t had one in YEARS. We were going to settle for another nail salon that’s pretty common here in town but I was curious to see what else was out there. I googled nail salons and saw that Coco Nails had 5 stars. I read the reviews and they were all good reviews so I decided to reach out to them and inquire about their services/prices. This was at night and they responded quickly and were able to take us at the time I requested for the next morning. Upon arriving, we were nicely greeted by Lani. The salon was nice and small. Very quiet and peacful as we were the only ones there. Very clean (tools were fresh packs/steralized) and they wore gloves. The foot soak sinks were also lined as well. We were both handed bottles of aquafina water, offered snacks & the control for the tv. We got the deluxe pedicure which was nice and relaxing. We both ended up choosing gel white french tips as they last longer. Lani and Jun both did such a great job. Thank you both for a great experience. I am so happy that I discovered your nail salon and we will definitely be back again. 10/10 recommend.
P.S. I completely forgot to capture photos of the nail salon for this review. Will definitely do so...
Read more4 Stars – Decent Work, But Uncomfortable Experience
I recently visited this Coco Nail Salon while on vacation. The actual nail work was decent and professionally done. However, the experience overall left me feeling uncomfortable.
The gentleman who worked on my nails didn’t speak any English, so everything had to be translated. He was very reserved, never smiled, and didn’t come across as friendly. I think his wife is the owner and translated for him.
One thing that really bothered me was the TV in the salon. They were showing a cooking program (I think from Greece) that included very graphic scenes of a woman preparing a dead sheep. It was honestly quite gruesome and made me uncomfortable enough to just look at my phone the whole time.
I wish more salons would be mindful of the content they stream on TV. Many customers are animal lovers or simply don’t want to see blood and butchery while trying to relax. This isn’t the first time I’ve run into this issue at salons, even back home in California.
Because of this experience, I can only give 4 stars. The nail work was fine, but the atmosphere needs to be more...
Read moreFound this gem on a whim, and so glad I came here. My fiancé and I are in Kona for a long layover due to the tsunami warning and needed something relaxing to do while here. Even though we didn’t have an appointment and just walked in, they were able to accommodate us for a manicure and pedicure. Customer service was superb and the lady who did my manicure (whom I believe is the owner) really took her time and did a phenomenal job with my gel manicure. You can tell she is very good at her craft. My fiancé also had no complaints about his pedicure and said he would keep coming back here if he could. The salon was also clean and tidy, with so many color options to choose from. If you’re in the area, I definitely recommend supporting this small business. If I lived in Kona, I would be a...
