I have always received great customer service, part from the check out staff. This changed for me today. A staff member named Naom checked my items out today, which was an alarming experience. To begin with, no warm welcome, secondly I purchased a "Labled Childs Set:, the items were attached, and was clearly labeled as a Set. She questioned me on the 2 items as to assume they were not truly a set that belonged together. I can completely understand some things must be confirmed, but it was very obvious. It was her attitude, she was extremely kirt, no eye contact, or even a statement that she was calling her manager. I retired from a position of 30 years, where I hired staff on service positions, and oversaw Service Delivery skills. I made a moment that is best to chose her delivery, even if it is policy. Relate with hour customer, explain when it is not clear, but NEVER argue with your customer, as we can not expect the customer to understand policy. Return customers, such as myself is how our retail stores alive and thriving. Helena is short on retail, and qe can not afford to loose customers or stores. At the end of my check out session, I did let the manager know how Kurt and Rude Namo was, and I was even more disappointed that the Manager did not acknowledge with an apology on behalf of the store. In closing, it would appear the staff could benefit in additional training on how to best service your customers, and How To Take the Heat when a customer is dissatisfied, and how Never to Argue with a customer.
A Very Dissatisfied...
Read moreThere’s an older woman with a foreign accent who’s usually at the jewelry counter or near the bags, and I have no idea how she’s still allowed to work in customer-facing roles. What happened to customer service? She talks down to customers, especially younger women, with a condescending tone and backhanded comments. It feels like she’s constantly assuming we’re trying to steal or don’t know how to shop. She’s rude, impatient, and always hovering — not to help, but to hover and watch you closely. very uncomfortable.
One visit, she was working the fitting rooms and asked us (fairly) to hang items for counting — totally normal. But as I was doing that, she got irritated that I didn’t do it her specific way and aggressively shoved all the clothes together on the rack in a really jerky, passive-aggressive manner.
Later, my friend and I were at the jewelry counter trying on rings (we were interested in buying multiple), and she told us only two rings could be out of the locked case at a time — which I’ve never heard before. When I politely asked if it was a new policy, she snapped “no,” and continued to act like we were bothering her every time we wanted to see a different ring. They were $10–$20 rings, not diamonds — but she treated us like we were trying to rob the place.
She completely ruins the shopping experience. Everyone else who works here has always been friendly and helpful — it’s just this one lady. Honestly, she should be moved to stocking or something where she doesn’t have to interact with customers. Someone needs to address...

As we continue shopping then staff member stood close to us and watch us closly, this made my sister uncomfortable. Again the same staff member asked " what are we looking for" and " can I help you", we said " no, but thank you". My sister went to try on some shirts and the staff member went up to other staff members and pointed my sister out, she said she could her the staff member telling the others that they just have to wait tell she comes out. when my sister was done trying on shirts the staff member asked again " can i help you" my sister said " no thank you" and we checked out and left. my sister said she was uncomfortable and she didn´t want to come back. Although I like shopping at TJ Maxx I dont like to feel interrogeted as I shop. This was at the Helena TJ Maxx and unfortunately my family will not shop...
