Im gonna start by saying just dont shop here at all. Ive been shopping here for almost a year now, i go in 1-3 times a week because i live nearby and its convient. For starters ive gotten food poisioning from their fruits and veggies always being moldy. If you walk down their produce isle youll see mold on a solid 40% maybe even 50% of their fruit. Next i bought a wild caught salmon that had literal visible tape worms crawling across the top of it. And the final straw for me is my husband and I went to the store this weekend we got an entire weeks worth of groceries, my husbands ex military and him and his military friends wanted to go hang out this weekend so my husband got a six pack of beer. Something we have done many many times together in this store. Today we got to the checkout and as per normal the cashier requests for his ID. (i wont be listing names as appalling and disgusting as this situation was.) She proceeds to say that i whos just standing in line with him has to give her my ID too. Even though im not buying anything and i dont even drink but because im standing there i have to give my ID. I told her i dont drink im not paying and i dont have my ID on me. She proceeded to say he cant be buying drinks for minors. I told her hes my husband. She proceeded to say because im here with him i need my ID so i said can i leave and go home then? Then will you let my husband buy his alcohol. She proceeded to tell me no that she thinks that im just gonna wait outside so he can give a minor alcohol. So i proceed to ask if a man has kids at home are you gonna refuse to sell him alcohol because he has kids at home? She said no its different because theyre at home. So i asked can i just go home then again and she said no before finally going and getting her manager. Her manager comes in and starts accusing me of basically being some white trash trying to get a fix off of alcohol. And then proceeds to say that im trying to pull a sting opperation for the police. Accused my husband of potentially having a fake ID just because they were so incompetant that they couldnt read an out of state ID. then after they verrified it was in fact a real ID instead of appologising for literally harassing and descriminating against me infront of everyone they proceed to double down and say well we can still just refuse service so ya. My mom has worked in the grocery buisness for 30 years and said if this happened to her she would have sued. Dont shop at the helena location. Nobody deserves to be treated like this im never shopping here again and neither should...
Read moreOur family of 6 has shopped at Super One since they came to Helena. However, a string of bizarre encounters with Super One’s customer service staffer have us now taking our business to WinnCo from here on.
Kicking off the story was a recent visit to Super One to return a bag of potatoes that turned rotten shortly after buying them. When I got to the customer service desk and asked about returning the bag - not complaining, but simply asking to return them - I was sternly lectured by her that if I checked my produce when I buy it this wouldn’t happen. As someone who worked high school and college years in a grocery store and now a grocery-buying Dad, I responded that perhaps checking them when stocking them might also be a factor. She scowled and sent me off to the produce. To be fair to the store they did replace my potatoes, but the overall experience left me wondering if it was time to shop elsewhere.
I went home and shared the story with my family, and a college-aged daughter told me she was at Super One’s front counter a few days ago (today is July 12 2022) and asked where the trays were for potted plants. The woman at the counter broke into laughter in her face and dismissed her. My daughter was helping me replant a bunch of the flowering plants in our house this past weekend - not sure if she was inferring that my daughter was running a grow operation…not the case obviously but not much else to go on there. It was odd experience for my daughter and we’re still perplexed at what would trigger a response like that from a “customer service” person.
After sharing my story with extended family earlier this week several others at a gathering were quick to share their own experiences with this very same customer service staffer. I’ve heard mostly complimentary reviews about the rest of the workforce, but we dont need this kind of drama when buying groceries. I never thought I would be reviewing Super One but people need to be prepared to be treated that way when they work with their customer service person. It’s unfortunate but after having shopped at Super One since they arrived in Helena, we are now taking our...
Read moreJust bought some broccoli from Super 1 Foods in Helena and my wife was about to use it for dinner when she showed me these insects inside and throughout the broccoli we picked it apart and only the outside was unaffected. This is not the first time Super 1 Foods has had extremely bad and not even questionable health concerns. It is quite obvious that whoever is in charge is not concerned with any of our health as this sort of thing has been going on for years I've got fruit drinks from here and they had what looked like rotten ingredients at the bottom so dense it was visible through the bottom of the container. This store is a breeding ground for parasites if you care about your children I suggest you avoid Super 1 Foods at all costs as these matters can give people Tape worms Hook worms and much more not to mention Food Poisoning. I have posted pictures there is absolutely no denying the intent and attitude of the one in charge as mentioned this is not the first time something on this level has happened. But I know Helenas officials will do nothing about it same for the people of this town Americans aren't what they used to be so nothing will change this and the proof is in the fact it's been going on for years. Take pride on the fact that inactive nature probably gave your kids parasites because what else are you...
