Hello everyone. I am a contractor. l need your help. I"be been doing business with home Depot for over 25 years. In the beginning of our business relationship was outstanding. They had quaified personnel in every department and reasonably available. But through the years I have seen a dramatic decline in the merchandise departments personnel. Building, plumbing, electrical, lightings ,hardware departments.ect. l have personally walked through the stores departments looking for personnel to help locate other personnel in the department in need assistance with. Usually due to mechandise that requires personnel service or unstocked shelves and need to have personnel pull from stock shelf. I have personally waited for assistance by the personnel for more than 30 min. After locating personnel in the store. As a contractor, time is money. The more a job cost a contractor to perform a contract, the more it cost the consumer. l have to pay that employees wages for his time spent there looking and waiting for personnel to assist his needs. As a consumer, well l would feel lost and discouraged. There have been times l've been in the plumbing or electrical departments getting merchandise and end up assisting home Depot customers with questions, what merchandise to use. They will either ask me or l will ask if they need help. Funny how they apologize for my inconvenience to help them and they always start the conversation with quote " l've been waiting for an associate in this department for a long time". Now l must say that l did a personal survey of most of all the home depot reviews on maps and found in various areas the same multiple complaints. Now according to home Depot quote" the people of the communities is the heart of our success. I believe in going the extra mile to serve others as well as my customers. Home Depot did to in the beginning. I have contacted home Depot corporate office about my concerns. If ur really not satisfied with your experience you had. do your review and then contract the customer service center. They want your review too! They don't see...
Read moreThis review is of the Hemet,CA Home Depot. I went in to make a purchase of a DeWalt cordless sander, but nobody was working in tools from what I could see. Finally a representative showed up and said they had 4 on hand. He was unable to find them in the aisle. He requested backup, and that rep said they are likely upfront in the Christmas tool display. The next thing I know, the guy comes back, looked at me, and looked at the display cage, then kept walking. I called out to him for a status on the sander, he said he didn't have them. He then continued his walk away, and again I asked him "did you find them"? He said no, they had none in stock. I asked why the system online shows 6, and his handheld showed 4, if none exist. He said 'it's because you guys like to steal them'. I was livid, so I put back most of the stuff, and only held on to 3 packs of the sanding disks, and put the $300.00 worth of merchandise back on the shelf.
I used the Lowe's App, and I discovered they had 20+ in stock, and at $10 less than Home Depot. I placed an order through the app, and headed on my way to Lowe's. I had my sander in hand, and was headed home in less than 10 minutes.
Thank God for Lowes! If not for them, I wouldn't have my sander.
UPDATE The employee from my original review was apparently seasonal help, and is nowhere to be found.
The rest of the store is working hard to get things done, taking care of customers, and keeping merchandise available. I've had the pleasure of working directly with one of the managers(might actually be the store manager), Luis, and he is probably the reason for the turn around. This man is all about customer service, and it radiates down through all of the employees at this location. This is my regular stop for home projects, garden needs, and...
Read moreI have had NUMEROUS instances at this store where I cannot get waited on. I've had multiple instances where I've asked an associate for help. They claim to be busy, but never check back even though I've waited more than 15 minutes. AND when I call the store, they don't answer. The phone rings and rings and rings - frequently for MORE THAN 10 MINUTES. If I do get through to the switchboard, I get transferred, but nobody answers in the department I'm transferred to and nobody monitors that my call has been answered, so I end up waiting on hold for about 10 minutes, my limit for how long I'm willing to wait before I hang up and try again only to have the scenario repeated.
Today, I spent more than 45 minutes attempting to talk to someone in the hardware department. When I finally talked to someone, he told me he was on break for the past 45 minutes and no one else was available to cover for him when he was on break. On top of that, he wasn't able able to tell me when the person trained to rekey locks would be available. He basically told me to call the next day. Like, yeah sure, I'm going to waste another hour trying to get someone to answer the phone...Honestly, I have better things to do.
While some employees are very nice and very knowledgeable, that's the exception, not the rule. Most employees cannot answer my questions as to where something is located or they refuse to help me get things off of upper shelves that I am unable to reach. I even had one employee tell me he couldn't wait on me because he was "going on his break in 15 minutes".
I discussed these problems with a store manager in December 2022. It's now June 2023 and the problems persist. Management at this HD...
