Kim's Watchmakers & Jewelers — Attraction in Herndon

I called this morning right after they opened, and the young man who answered the phone said, "Yes" (we can do what you're asking). Having called other places and been disappointed, I arrived with a bit of skepticism. Once inside, what I suspect are a father/son team - the "son" is the customer interface. In sum, he is the ideal combination of high competence and excellent customer service. I needed an expansion band sized, because I had ordered one and botched it badly despite having access to YouTube how-to videos. I couldn't see him work, but when he returned the band, and then, I needed another link removed, and he again went to the bench, and quickly returned with a perfect fitting band. I had a second watch in my pocket and again, the young man demonstrated the first job was not a fluke, and he accomplished a repeat performance, again checking the fit on my wrist, asking he how it felt, again returned to his bench to remove more links, and quickly returned with a perfect fitting watch. He insisted that I could return within it two weeks for adjustment for free. And the prices are SO reasonable -- I had enough left over to go for lunch. Right now under COVID protocols, the door is locked, there is a doorbell there they ask customers to use, and with a limit of two customers in the store, they will...

My family is a little too high-energy and active to have nice things, we break everything.

The Kim family approach watch and jewelry repair as an art, and are nearly magical in their speed and skill in fixing things. Last time I had a watch repaired, I didn't even notice it was being worked on before it was done. The younger guy who works the front (I'm assuming he's the son of the owners) is just a good person. I love taking stuff in to the shop. They are incredibly fair (and almost too cheap!), and have waived the cost of quick fixes on multiple occasions. I've had silver necklaces, dress and sport watches, and women's piercing alterations fixed at the shop, and I've never had to come back to pick things up! They do soldering and metalwork WHILE YOU WAIT.

I'm recovering from a surgery right now, and using my downtime to pay back the cosmic goodness. Karma, you know? The Kim's are good people and do incredible work.

I got 2 familial rings resized here, and I actually ended up buying another ring from here because I thought it was so beautiful. They also cleaned one of my rings that was pretty complex for me to do by myself because it has a hidden halo and it came out amazing. I think that their prices are affordable, and I never felt pressured to do/buy something I didn't want to (which can be a common feeling at other jewelry places). With the ring that I purchased from them, they cover resizing up to 1 whole size, which I can also appreciate.

10/10 will definitely be recommending and buying from here, and only here, in the future. Their customer service and jewelry quality...
