High Life Smoke Shop Hickory — Attraction in Hickory

If I could review with less than 1 star I would. There was a man with a long beard and a shorter guy with short hair that helped me when I very first walked in that store for the first time and they were awesome. But everytime I have been in there since there women are rude but there is is one particular lady that acts as if it’s a problem to help with inquiries and has a attitude that’ll turn a person like me up and I told her she need to be more welcoming and helpful cause we are the business that keep money flowing. Someone else rated this establishment and has to be talking bout the same person and the owner replied they don’t have an employee with pink her and yes they do cause it’s the same girl with colors added in her but the base of it it black. She is aweful everytime I come in but I never say anything but this time I did tell her about herself because you can’t have someone running away your business like that. I asked questions and she just didn’t give a D@mn. I drive up here every week and spend good money with this place because I loved the service and help I got from the original two guys but I promise not to spend another dollar if I have to drive 45 minutes and possibly deal with someone sooo pissy. I don’t know what reason she is kept but it’s seems from multiple reviews that she is the same person giving miserable service. I’d rather drive further for less quality items then deal with that terrible portion of staff. The females that work there especially her minus one I encountered a couple weeks ago. Don’t care that your there. Don’t acknowledge you. Don’t want to help and make that very clear in tone and response. Young lady is bad...

Earlier this week I bought a Stinger 5X Instant Detox kit(For almost 40$, online they're around 15$) I still have the receipt, box, and all. I followed the instructions to the absolute T, I called the helpline they have on the box. I failed my test. When I called them to get my money back for a product that simply didn't work I was told I couldn't do that and I must have done something wrong, because the manager there has used them personally, and has NEVER had an issue with them. Also that he has people buy them repeatedly and no body has ever complained. Now this simply cannot be true. There are MANY reviews for this product with a good amount saying that it doesn't work. Unfortunately I saw the price tag/reviews after purchasing it. I've bought pieces, juice, ashtrays, etc from this store. All I'm asking is for a refund on a product that did not work. An overpriced product that I naively thought would come with some sort of quality assurance and courtesy. 40$ may not be a lot to a big chain store, but it is to me. And now because I had a surprise test, I will have to take 20 hours of a class that will be 40$ an hour. This test failing is going to cost me 800$. Will never come back and will actively recommend others...

Used to love going to the high life locations around the greater hickory area. However, over the last 6 months most of the stores seem to have lost the quality of life factor. Always out of things I’m looking for, stores constantly in disarray. All the managers I speak to from Statesville to Hickory to Boone have told me they are doing their best but it is partially out of their control. It would seem the problem with this company lies with those in corporate and upper management. Greed and incompetence is choking what was a once good franchise. Recently been taking my business to other smoke shops such as The Magic Pipe and others. There are plenty of worthy competitors in the area with better staff, better stock, and better attitude. Don’t bother checking this place out, take your money to smaller businesses that will appreciate your long term commitment as a customer or employee. Whoever is running the stores in the Hickory area needs to get their stuff together because they aren’t doing a great job in any aspect. I also work in retail, it might be time for a district refresh. New district managers, new store managers. Needs to be run correctly to obtain my business again. A once well franchise that has gone...
