Do not shop for Jewelry at the Hickory Belk’s. There were 2 women waiting on costumers at the Jewelry counter. My son and I were there to look at gold chains. I was prepared to buy one that night. One sales person was busy showing a costumer Jewelry. The other blonde sales lady was finishing up with someone and was putting things away. We stood patiently waiting on acknowledgement that she would be with us shortly, I did not want to be rude and interrupt her. She walked by us several times. While we were waiting a couple walked up and asked her something and instead of helping us she went to help them. I thought to myself maybe that she overlooked us and gave her grace and continued to stand there for help. 15 minutes later she finishes with them and they buy nothing. She continues to ignore us standing at the counter while she fiddles with things. Finally I ask her if she could help us. Her answer, “ I’m supposed to get off now”. So I say, ok that’s fine, and walk away. Then she retracts her statement and says that she will help. I’m boiling mad at this point and tell her never mind. I put the shoes down that I was going to buy in addition to the gold chain. I refuse to buy anything from a store where the sales people are rude and unprofessional. She should have acknowledged me at the very least and told me that before I stood there 30 minutes...

As we were looking through the display case, I personally noticed a wedding band I was interested in. There was a group of 3 next to us speaking to an associate about the way items were ringing up. They had odd ball items, nothing related to jewelry, the customer was complaining about how the items were ringing up more at the register than on some scanner store/app. The women did say I'll be right with you, but what really got us was listening to the conversation (they are right next to us), we can here the accoiciate personally knows this group (how is so and so, etc). She telling them, well if that what it rings up, that's the price blah blah. We are still standing there waiting and this group is still trying to scan barcodes with there phone to show an item is actually $15 not $23 etc. We know every customer is just as important, but when you are at a jewelry counter willing to spend 1k+ and your listening to an associate and customers talk personal about clearance items... Patience runs thin. Not to mention as we were leaving, the customer service desk had three available associates for those customers to be asking...
Read moreWaited 38 minutes in the jewelry area, but that was not what irritated me . There was a man there buying a ring for his fourteen year old daughter. Ok I just waited my turn. I was next. Then an older woman came along and jumped in front of me and took over the sales person. So I moved down to the part of the where the older lady guided the sales person. Because I should have been next!!! While she was helping the older lady. Another person walked up. After she was done with the older lady, she turn her to be me and walked 4 to 5 ft and waited on the other person who walked up. WHY????? I stood there at least 15 to 20 minutes and wait for the first customer to get his daughter a ring. I was less than 8 ft from her then, so why did she not want to wait on me? I knew what I wanted and I had my BELkS charge card in my HAND. Why? I laid the two items in hand to the case and explained to the women what she did and I left. Without the two items & the ring and bracelet!!! About all together, a 250.00 to 280.00 purchase without tax. I called the store manager Suzanne. I was on hold with the phone ringing for 12 min. Before she picked up , so the store manager has no customer service. Do not go to the hickory’s Belk!!!!!! Do not waste your time !! I did it for...
