This hidden gem is something that needs to be on the top of your to go list! The food is phenomenal, The service was impeccable.. and the atmosphere is the mall who wouldn’t wanna go to the mall! I ordered the Double meat plate with fried chicken and meatloaf. I also got the turnip grains and the macaroni and cheese with cornbread. My food was made to order so it was Piping hot.. The cornbread wasn’t just ready yet, so he told me that he would bring it out to me as soon as it comes out the oven and man he wasn’t joking about that. He even gave me an extra slice for waiting. I haven’t had food like that since the 1980s when my grandma was alive man oh man, it was beyond delicious! I was starting to believe my grandmother had come back alive and made it herself.. Then I heard somebody walked by and say they had Kool-Aid what I didn’t even see that on the menu. I guess it was there. I just didn’t read it so of course I had to go back and get the Kool-Aid man. I wanted to rate it so much higher. But to be honest, I couldn't, because I probably still scared higher than I should have. During work travel, I started going to Google, and ask for a specific type of restaurants. Today I asked Google for black owned fried chicken. That's how I found it. Located inside a almost/ should close mall. Inside food court area, which appears to be the only reason the few people come to that location. Main food items in this food court, being some type of Asian food. Back to Quisys. First visit probably last. Workers nice, area needs cleaning and organizing. I'm not one to be brought by bells and rings. But how good is the food, is it equal to the cost, and no bugs. Quisys Soul Food, isn't home cook soul food I was looking for. 100/10⭐️ y’all gotta go try Quisys Soul Food in the mall it was all on point. I did the double meat platter doing two different types of chicken(don’t judge me), Mac n cheese, and greens. We also got flounder cause they were out of catfish sadly, mashed potatoes and potato salad. Nothing disappointed. I do wish they had cornbread today but they use Hawaiian rolls so it’s not a complete loss. We will be going here a lot. Being they are the closest “to home” soul food in Hickory they are a special find. Their food could give a rock a soul. I need them to offer a bucket of greens because my gawd. And that magic seasoning on the meat and poultry, please sell it to the public. The most basic Hannah could use that seasoning and make changes lives one meal at a time.
