Okay this is gonna be an honest review . I have been watching this shop on Tik tok for a while and while I didn’t think all their styles were great I thought the Boho knotless braids were . So I texted the 240 number to book an appointment, the appointment was set to be for Saturday the 18th at 8:30 am with a $50 deposit. I didn’t think it was bad so I zelled . Well being pregnant I woke up that Saturday around 6am not feeling that well. However, I still proceeded to go . Around 9am or so I texted her and said “ hey I’m not feeling well could I please move my appointment to Tuesday . She read the message but didn’t respond, I called and she sent me straight to VM, then she proceeded to text how I will loose my deposit bc of last minute cancellation, even though it doesn’t say that anywhere . I told her I didn’t ask for a deposit back and if she would have answered instead of sending me to VM she would have known I just wanted to move the date . She finally said yes and proceeded to tell me how she would make an exception for my deposit to still be toward my style but usually she didn’t do that and for me to just walk in . TBH I already was turned off by the nasty ass attitude I was over it , but I’m also a Registered nurse and needed my hair done as I work 15 hr shifts sometimes . Moving forward , we set it for Tuesday the 21 after my appointment, so I told her I would be there by 10. Now I can’t lie my appointment went over and I live in Annapolis , it’s already a 36 min drive . I told her I’d be there by 11:15 . She then texts me and goes “ woooooa 9am and now 11:15?? I’m thinking sis you told me to walk in and I never said I would be there by 9 . I was just over the nasty ass attitude… and reading the comments I can see that I was not wrong . Now Ade did my hair which was supposed to be thick knotless boohoo, I feel like the front was bigger than I wanted but the was nice and did my hair good and was very nice and attentive . The shop is fairly clean but on a day when it was only 20 degrees outside the shop was freezing . I guess the owner came in and wasn’t very nice and I felt like she was talking about me , although I am African I do not speak French . I WILL NOT be returning to this shop …. Ade was very nice but I will not support any rude ass people for a hair style .
Thank you Ade for making me smile when I was already upset , but it’s not even worth going back to … go at...
Read moreI went in to get spring twist. They quoted me 1 price over the phone but once I got there they charged me $50 more because I wanted them longer and as you can see from the picture it's not really long. It's by my shoulders which is what they quoted initially. I'm pregnant and they kept switching stylist and arguing with each other while doing my hair. I wanted to get up and leave soooo bad because who wants that bad energy especially on their head. Along the way of completing each twist the stylist was scissoring the fly aways. This meant that she wasn't doing the twist right or applying enough product to keep my hair in the twist. I specifically asked if she was cutting my hair which she replied no but as soon as I got in my car and looked in the mirror I was pulling strands of my hair out. Once I got home more continued to come out and the hair was coming out the twist. The pictures posted is 2 days of having my hair done. I went on 12/31 pics are on 1/2. I was pissed because I'm due any day now and my hair already looks old. I usually get this style at Princess hair gallery and it last about 2 months. The only reason they got 2 stars is because the manager did try to fix it and wanted me to come back but I couldn't at the time and honestly I didn't even trust them to do the job anymore. She refunded me $50 but honestly that's the extra cost for the length that I didn't get. I feel i deserved more of a refund and mad i wasted my money especially since they cut my hair. It ain't like i can get it back though it will grow back eventually. I will need a major trim when i take these out. Needless to say I probably will not return.
I changed my review from 2 stars to 1. Girl nobody need to make up anything about your shop for a refund. I have been to other African shops and I have never had to deal with the issues yall presented. You can tell from the other reviews that yall just suck and need better customer...
Read moreNothing can take away from the talent in this salon; I have been coming here for the last several months and the ladies working here are skilled and fast.
However, this last time will, unfortunately, be my last time coming and here’s why:
1.) when you book an appointment, your expectation is to have your appointment at the time that is scheduled. I drive from out of state to Maryland for this particular hair salon, but always end up waiting for someone to arrive. This last time I waited 1.5 hours. Things happen, I get it, but not every appointment. There’s always at least three cars waiting outside for someone to arrive.
2.) Bringing your child to the workplace is fine (I think any sensible person would be okay with children around). What is not okay is to abruptly leave your clients, with no explanation, to go to the back and scream at a level so loud and long enough for the whole salon to hear. Shocked is an understatement. The behavior and inquiries on the child’s well-being were brought to the owner’s attention when they returned. The stylist eventually came from the back and no apologies for her behavior were given.
3.) Getting your hair done is a small luxury and a way to keep some since of normalcy during COVID. However, the salon does not enforce proper mask wearing at all times. Masks were worn around the mouth, but not nose, and sometimes not at all.
These are major dealbreakers for me and there is no way I can continue to support the business after this latest trip. I hope this is not taking lightly and...
