I'm very disappointed about the service I received, such the way my food looked and taste and the response I gotten after complaining. I've eaten there many occasions and never had a problem with food or how I was treated. Things happen, we are not perfect. My daughter asked what I wanted to eat for lunch (it was my 🎈 🎂 I was excited and said African from my favorite place. I went to eat.. but it didn't look the same. It looked so oily and old.. the taste .. I just couldn't, something was off. I love me some African food.. you hear me😂 like I said,I've never had a problem with them and would always bragg about food and how they treated me, especially the man(owner) this was until I complained. He was so rude to me,kept hanging up on me.. Saying he was in a meeting.. No apology for the food not being up to par.. All he kept saying was his wife just cooked. Not true.it was different. I was surprised how he acted. Guess people only nice long as you spending money and giving great reviews. I'm really surprised how I was treated. It wasn't about the food because like I said things happen. I just couldn't eat that. It was the response for me. Not feeling comfortable after being treated like that, I just told him didn't worry about it. I was just going to take a lost. He did give me a refund, that was the only positive outcome. Anytime I throw away some, you know it's a problem. All of that oil was going to make me sick. I even offered to show him videos of food and that I threw it out because he acted like he didn't believe me. But he refused to look at. I have to find me another restaurant.....
Read moreExcellent food. Excellent service. Nicest owners. This is a place where you feel good about spending your money!
I tried their vegetable soup and cassava lead soups with pounded yam. Both dishes were mouth watering delicious.
And the owners are the nicest folks and treat their customers like family, even if just getting to meet you. I have the perfect example. After my second visit, I placed an order for a pot (tray) of the delicious cassava leaf soup. I asked someone else to pick it up. The person didn't have cash. So the owner gave them the soup and said I could pay next time I visit. This was a $100 bill, and I had only seen them twice, but we bonded those two times. They made this leap of faith based on that alone. I went back in over a week later to eat and pay; they never called me about it in the interim. I just thought that was the classiest thing. And I appreciate them for that.
So, from one Nigerian who appreciates good native food, check this place out. You will not be disappointed.
Furthermore, they have other Caribbean and American Staples (not just African food). And they cater!!! They have all the...
Read moreI came inside of Sun Bim Afri an Carribben to find that it seems to be still coming together. There wasnt but one menu to look at, no attractive decorations or nothing that stood out to show the restaurant's purpose or passions or even inspiration.... The workers were all very nice and attentive to customers. It did smell good as far as what was cooking. I was given a sample of a possible new soup kinda dish that the cashier said they want to get customers thoughts on before adding to the menu. The spicy was over powering for me. I wasnt able to really enjoy the other flavors. I left without ordering due to the restaurant not showing its preparedness of servicing with the right things to influence my interest of what would to interesting to try. I will go back to find out if it has updated in those areas and if there afe displays that will give options thats hard...
