Unpleasant Shoppers World Experience (First Time Visit)
Our hour and 43 minute journey to Shoppers World was pleasant, but upon entering the store, a friend and I were met with a confusing and poorly handled situation. There was no one available to hold customers bags/backpacks at the store entrance. As we reached the back of the store, an employee approached us, with two white plastic (clothing size) rings, asking for our bags, claiming that the manager saw us on camera in the store with our backpacks on.
We passed by 3 employees, neither asked for our backpacks. Wouldn't it have made sense to ask for our backpacks after we entered the store? When this was brought to the employees attention, they became visibly upset, which was unprofessional and unnecessary.
This entire situation could have been avoided with clear communication and consistent bag/backpack policy enforcement. This Shoppers World needs to train it's employees on proper bag check-in procedures and customer service to avoid making customers feel uncomfortable...
