Copper Penny Boutique — Attraction in Hilton Head Island

I was appalled by the disrespect, ignorance, and prejudice of the worker as soon as I walked into this store today. Me and my little cousins wanted to go shopping at our time in Hilton head and as soon as we walked into this store we were getting looks and being watched. We decided we wanted to look at the necklaces and as we were trying to shop the worker came over, interrupted us and said “just so you know that necklace is $40” I was confused so I respectfully said thank you and continued on, but not even 1 minute later she came back over and asked if we needed help finding anything. I politely said i looking and she said “okay well just so you know there ARE cameras”, again respectfully I simply said okay thank you and she walks over and starts gossiping about us very loudly with another person. And as if that wasn’t enough she again walks over and says “okay why are you hanging around here, if you’re not going to buy anything I’m going to have to ask you to leave” I could completely understand if we were being obnoxious and disrespectful but we did nothing and as we were leaving the store even when we asked she completely ignored us and shut the door in our face. disgusting unprofessional behavior, the reason they have cameras is so they don’t need to...

I had the best experience at this store this week - twice!!! Alex is the newest employee and she did a fabulous job and it was only her second day! When I went in the second time, Alex welcomed me back! Nice touch! She even sent me a written thank you note and had to do some research to find my address! Smart and determined employee who listened well to pick up details in order to track me down! Maggie, the owner, is such a smart entrepreneur! Outgoing, personable with a fabulous sense of style!
