Karma Kafe: A Culinary Journey to Remember!
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Karma Kafe, and I must say, it was an extraordinary experience that exceeded all expectations. This hidden gem nestled in the heart of the city offers a delightful fusion of Indian and Parsi cuisine, making it a haven for food enthusiasts like me.
From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by a warm and inviting ambiance that instantly set the tone for a memorable evening. The decor beautifully blended elements of traditional Indian and Parsi culture, creating a charming and cozy atmosphere that was perfect for an intimate dinner or a family gathering.
Now, let's talk about the star of the show – the food! Karma Kafe's menu is a culinary masterpiece, offering a diverse range of dishes that cater to both Indian and Parsi palates. I started my meal with their famous Dhansak, a Parsi classic that was bursting with flavors and perfectly balanced spices. The tender mutton and lentil stew was a revelation, and it left me craving for more.
For the main course, I couldn't resist trying their Chicken Tikka Masala, a rich and creamy dish that was sheer perfection. The succulent chicken pieces were cooked to perfection and smothered in a luscious tomato-based gravy that had just the right amount of spice.
The vegetarian options were equally impressive. The Paneer Tikka and Baingan Bharta were flavorful and served with fresh, fluffy naan bread that was the ideal accompaniment. And don't get me started on the biryanis – they were heavenly!
To complement the meal, I indulged in some refreshing mango lassi, which was the perfect way to balance out the spice and add a touch of sweetness to the feast.
What truly sets Karma Kafe apart, aside from its delectable food, is the impeccable service. The staff were attentive, friendly, and well-versed in explaining the menu, making our dining experience all the more enjoyable.
In addition to the fantastic food and service, the pricing at Karma Kafe is quite reasonable, considering the quality and quantity of the dishes served. It's clear that they value their customers and are dedicated to providing an exceptional dining experience.
In conclusion, Karma Kafe is a culinary treasure that deserves every bit of praise it receives. Whether you're a fan of Indian cuisine or eager to explore the delightful world of Parsi flavors, this restaurant is a must-visit. I left Karma Kafe with a full belly, a happy heart, and a promise to return soon. So, if you're looking for an unforgettable dining experience that combines culture, taste, and warmth, look no further than Karma Kafe. It's a culinary journey you won't...

My dining experience began with an excellent assortment of appetizers to choose from. I've recently ordered the Kabob sampler..an assortment of chicken and lamb kabobs. There's the baked wings which were delicious and juicy. These are prepared in a delectable sauce. The Karma Aloo is a vegetarian dish made with potatoes that was excellent. Also on the menu are the Vegetarian or Chicken Pakoras, very tasty and well prepared.
The Ginger Conconut Chicken is a must order. This soup will be one of the best tasting soups you will ever have...ever!
I recently ordered the Tandoori Chicken. This is a full half chicken baked in the tandoor. An absolutely superb meal... tender and juicy... prepared with just enough spices... and cooked to perfection.
Also, the Chicken Makhani or Butter Chicken is simply the most delicious dish one could order. Dark chicken pieces cooked in a butter tomato sauce..absolutely to die for.
Not to be missed is the Shrimp Malabar. Jumbo shrimp cooked in a Conconut sauce served with rice. It doesn't get any better.
If hot and spicy is what excites your palette its the Chicken Vindaloo to order. Chicken and potatoes in a very fiery sauce. A Goan specialty.
I always order Naan bread. This delicious bread complements any of the choices and comes in a variety of selections: plain, onion, garlic, onion or cheese.
A great beverage choice is a mango Lassi. Its sort of a smoothie which can be ordered with or without alcohol.
Kheer or traditional rice pudding is a great end of dinner dessert.
The staff is well versed in the menu and the preparation of all offerings. They are friendly and professional. A number of the staff have been with KK for over 10 years.
If you crave really delicious and well prepared and presented Indian food this is the place to get yourself over to.
I will say that ..due to each dish being made-to-order....be prepared to enjoy the evening...
Read moreDining as a black person can be very exhausting. Me and my partner decided to try the dine in experience for the first time and I can confidently say that we will not be back for multiple reasons.
The most important reason is the service. The staff prioritizes white people and will serve them first even if they are being seated AFTER individual(s) who are not white. This is exactly what happened to my partner and I. We did arrive at the restaurant later in the night, around 8:30ish which is closer to their closing time and they were pretty packed, more so with online orders than dining. Considering that they were busy, we were mindful of how the wait time on service might be a little longer. However, once we were sat, it took about 15-20 minutes for someone to take our order. A pair of white individuals came after us and were seated directly next to us. Their order is not only taken FIRST but also within 5-8 minutes of them sitting there. Everything they ordered came out much faster than ours and they ordered about the same amount of food as us. Very frustrating and puts a sour taste in your mouth if you are the one observing all this.
I don’t expect any change from this situation honestly because racism/prejudice is literally embedded in American society HOWEVER it still needs to be called out. White customers are not the only paying customers AND are not the only customers that should receive hospitality. Hospitality needs to be for EVERYONE, regardless of race, ethnic background, etc. DO BETTER.
In terms of food, it was okay. For a food chain restaurant, the level of authenticity is beginner friendly for being introduced to some south asian cuisine. Presentation was good but the actual taste could’ve been better. Now i’m not sure if this is because it was closer to closing time but the food tasted more on the older and colder side. Appetizers could’ve been warmer and entrees could’ve tasted fresher. The chicken biryani that was served to me had a...
