DONâT BE FOOLED BY THE PRETTY NEW FACADE; youâll be turned away at the door and told there is no open swim. Good luck getting in while itâs open. When it is open to the public, itâs too crowded to enjoy because the entire community is trying to get there during the measly open hours.
Donât trust the hours or schedule on the website or Google. Call first. Make sure you will actually be able to get in AND have enough time to actually swim and play. They change the hours all the damn time and they never made sense to begin with.
The facility is nice. The remodel did some things much better (the lockerooms, track, spa, sauna) but to have the slide end in a tub, not in a pool and no whirlpool. How dumb!
When we voted to increase the millage and rebuild this place, we were told families and taxpayers would have more opportunities to enjoy this facility. So WHY IN THE WORLD do we get a whopping (sarcasm) 4 hours to try to fit in a visit on Saturday and Sunday?!?!?! Itâs absurd. Itâs why I refuse to buy a membership. Good luck trying to fit a visit in when you have other plans on Saturday or Sunday. Oh! And if youâre a family of two, that membership will cost you as much as a family of 6. Totally reasonable! (sarcasm). Something in between an individual membership and a family membership doesnât seem like a big ask.
At this point I give up - there is no...
Read moreMe and my 10yr old daughter were extremely disappointed with the new design and additions. It was perfect before the remodel. The original slide, the lap pool area, the basketball hoops along with the tubes, the diving boards and the big obstacle floatable in the deep end. It was perfect. We'd spend hours there. We went yesterday and we were ready to go 10 minutes after we got there. So sad. We went to the lap pool in the other area. There was highschool or college level divers practicing. A man quickly asked what we were doing there and that the diving boards were not open to the public even though when we came in and purchased our day pass we were told they were. We felt so unwelcomed there. What a waste of money spent changing something from great to bad. Tried to take a shower there. No water pressure at all. The press board lockers will not stand the test of time. Metal lockers last decades. Whatever team of people designed this and approved this should bow there heads in shame. I bet you at no point were kids at different age groups asked about what they would like and not like about a new design. Wish they would tear it down and put it back the way it was. Just my...
Read moreWe as a family of 7 , 5 kids and 2 adults find the Holland Aquatic Center amazing. This will be our 3rd year coming here for the kid's Spring Break from a bustling and busy school year. I asked what they wanted to do this year and they all wanted to go to the Holland Aquatic Center to swim because they really have a great time there! They love the Water Slide , the Large Pool , ( shooting hoops ) , and the friendly atmosphere. I too as a parent enjoy coming here as well to have fun with the kids. By the end of the day , they are exhausted of all of the fun they had! My question is , and this is from reading most of the " Negative " comments on here is , if it is such an unpleasant place to be and bring your children and adults too , then why is there so many people there enjoying themselves every time we visited?? It must be a fun place to be when it's cold and snowy out right?? I know other people are entitled to their opinions , and I won't knock them down for it either , but man , what a place! What fun! Let the kids enjoy it!! If they're happy , you should be happy for them!...
