We were told there would be a 20-25 min wait and we waited for 45 min to be seated. Once in the restaurant, it was a nice cozy place very small, size of a small cafe. The waitress came to give us menus and take our order about 10 min later she was friendly, but seemed to be the only waitress. We ordered cappuccinos; there were 5 of us and our food. We received our cappuccinos one by one about 10-15 minutes apart. She apologized and said they can only make one at a time. But couldn't they make them all then bring them to us? Then it took about 45 minutes at least to get our food. The food was not bad, but the service was extremely slow, especially considering the small size of the restaurant. As we were finishing our meal, two of us were still eating, and then someone came to clear our table before we were finished. The guys in our group got up and walked out but us ladies were waiting to take a turn in the restroom (only one restroom that was unisex for the restaurant) Then a manager or possibly owner came and said we have 2 more tables to seat and your time is up please leave the table so we can clean it in a rude voice. We were shocked. the people at the table by ours said there 2 other empty tables here and pointed at them and said I can't believe he just said that to you. We said we are shocked as well because we had not been long after the food came it was a lot longer to wait to be seated as well as be served. As we were leaving, the man who was rude to us was passing by me and looked at us with disgust, and I'm trying to understand why. We were friendly and courteous, etc, I said to him we would not be back due to his comments. He said that's okay. A very different experience; I have never been treated this way; it...
Read moreNo idea how this place has such good reviews. We came in from GR and gave it a try based on reviews and homemade biscuits on the menu. The menu was very small, and only a few traditional breakfast options. Most of the items have onions and chorizo in them which didn’t make much sense. It appears their biggest sellers and what they’re known for are the “dessert breakfast” options and the biscuits. We both ordered scrambles and the potatoes were cold and squashy, you could tell they had been cooked at one point and were crispy, but then sat there and then were just reheated. The eggs were very greasy and also squashy. The biscuit was the star of the show but still fairly dry. The honey packets on the table aren’t even real honey, and the butter cubes served with the “biscuit made from scratch” are sub par mediocre butter. My husband and I both left feeling nauseas, gassy, and not well. For 2 scrambles with water and a tip it cost $33, mind blowing for the awful quality food being served. We definitely...
Read moreImpression: Quaint breakfast location in a cute neighborhood/town. I don't live in Holland buts its adorable. Its not located in the main downtown area, but off a couple miles away (maybe?). However the area where its nestled is also very cute and clean. We were looking for a simple eatery for breakfast where I could get my fill of coffee and substance.
Pros: The coffee was fresh and good. The food was also very good. The atmosphere is very casual and laid back for when you just want to roll out of bed, look pleasant enough to greet society (jeans and tshirt... you should have some class and not go out in your sweat pants... much) and have a nice warm breakfast that meets everyones wants.
Cons: Some of the items seemed a bit pricey, but nothing that isn't within the realm of reasonable.
Conclusion: I would return here for breakfast, and if I lived in the Holland area, I would return on a semi-regular basis because it is just a nice quaint place to have breakfast.
Great For: Small groups...
