Hollywood Guitar Shop - Andy Green — Attraction in Hollywood

1/18/2023 - Andy is like fine wine! I bought a new bass in December. The very first thing my wife said to me as I placed the order for the bass was "you're taking it to Andy right?!" That shows what we think of him. I took him my new bass pretty much right out of the box along with some new strings. You know, it's one thing for me to be excited about a new guitar, it's a whole nother level when Andy gets excited for you and about the guitar you bought! When I went to pick it up he couldn't wait to have me play it. The work is top notch, the guitar has a great feel, he restrung it, adjusted the action and adjusted the pickup height. You can take your guitar to any of the big box stores and the guitar techs have a job to do. Andy goes to work excited about the guitars he's going to work on. He breathes what he does and he loves what he does. It comes across in the way he treats your guitar and the way he interacts with people. He's one of the luckiest people alive....he gets up everyday to do what he loves and gets paid for it! If I owned a 100 guitars, I wouldn't let anyone other than Andy work on it.

Andy is the real deal! I took in what I thought was a so-so Ibanez bass, the poor thing was in sad shape. Andy looked at it and noticed the neck had a bow in it. He said he would see if it could be straightened out, if not, it wouldn't be worth fixing. He adjusted the truss rod and voila! Straight neck! He did a set up on it and holy cow...this thing will punch you in the face with it's tone! He's always busy but never so busy that he won't have a nice conversation with you. I found Andy on Facebook and messaged him about my Takaminie and the issues it was having. He responded to me within minutes and invited me to his shop. I lived in Boca at the time and it was quite the ride to his shop so we made a family outing out of it. The shop is small and has a great vibe to it and Andy greeted me like an old friend. Before showing him my acoustic, we talked about his shop, the guitars hanging on the walls, the guitars he's currently working on and other equipment there. I showed him my guitar, he looked and played it for a bit and told me what needed to be done. As all shops like this I understood that I would need to leave it there so he can work on it but I honestly didn't think it would be done on the same day! The work that Andy did on the guitar was second to none, it played better than ever. Sam Ash and the Guitar Center should take notes on how it should be done. As awesome as my guitar turned out the highlight was actually meeting Andy, he is truly a beautiful person. It was very difficult leaving since I just wanted to sit in his shop, talk to him and watch him work. Andy is truly an artist, a master in his craft but that pales to who he is as a person. I must add: Please ignore the negative comments written by "The Destroyer 565", "Ricio Moschella" and "Maria Muscari". They are all related and are writing malicious reviews just because they didn't want to leave their guitars there to...

I meant to leave this review sooner, but i have been too busy enjoying my guitar's new set up. Andy is a pro if ever there was one. He catches everything and does incredible work. I recently moved down from upstate NY. My guitar has repeatedly suffered from developing fret buzz's with unsettling regularity. I have taken it to multiple luthier's to try to address the problem, and they always just give me a set up and send me on my way. I took the guitar in for its first set up in Florida. Not only did Andy set it up, but realized that the screws werent binding and holdong the neck tightly in the neck pocket. Andy is the first to even notice this. Not only did he fill in the old holes, and re-drill new ones on top of a regular set up, it only took him one day!!! Im used to waiting a week for my guitar to make it to the bench for a set up. Andy was kind, interested in my guitar, interested in setting it up in the way that worked best for me, and all around friendly. His prices are more than fair.
