Pretty sure many of the 5-star reviews here are coerced. First, no one came and got me after I was asked to wait, someone just quietly called my name from behind the counter a few times and I just had to wander back and try to find the person I had never met before. The person I went to went completely rogue on what I asked for. My long nails were cut and replaced with fake tips which I mentioned several times I did not want. I asked for oval and got almond despite several mentions I wanted oval but my nails were filed down so much at that point I just let it go so they wouldn’t get too short and risk filing my fingers more. My nails were filed down on the sides so much my skin was raw. For the actual design and polish, I showed a picture of what I wanted and she took it upon herself to make it 3D and gold instead of just the simple white I wanted. When I asked her to change it she fought me on it saying the gold was better and when I pushed back, she just put white on top of the gold. By the end there were a ton of air bubbles and my polish was so thick it looked like the whole nail was glued on top. The entire time she kept talking about how great it was. I could have chalked a lot of this up to me not communicating clearly or loudly or soon enough, but what really pissed me off was she then took my phone, I tried to take it back, and she held on to it and opened Google reviews and sat there and watched my phone screen and told me to give her 5 stars. I just opened my work chat and said I had to check something and closed it out and left after she told me again to give her 5 stars. I know people rely on reviews and I went to her because I’ve seen that her work can be good, but her job isn’t to make it look like what she thinks is good, it’s to make it look like what I think is good. But regardless of it not being what I asked for, it was also sloppy and painful. I left super disappointed and a little violated. My search for a nail...
Read moreBe very careful who you go to here. I’ve had a couple bad experiences.
I had a man(I don’t know the name) do a pedicure who scrubbed my leg with the purple scrubber and scraped me.
I gave the place a try again, I had Tammy. Tammy unfortunately cut one toe nail shorter than the other for no reason so my feet look weird. My toe nails were very long, no reason for this. She also removed 2 of my fingernails by ripping them off, which is absolutely terrible for your nail beds. I cringed as she did it. You do nails for a living, you should soak it off… ripping off an extension or gel is just absolutely unprofessional. Then instead of cutting my natural nail with a nail clipper, she tried using the electric file and burnt my finger. Then, she painted my nails so terribly, they looked like they were 2 weeks grown out, yet she’s talking about how nice they look. I’m like I don’t love the big gap of paint, she tells me it’ll touch my cuticle, it absolutely will not.. I’ve been getting my nails done for years. and then, she repainted them, but wasn’t happy about it. Huffed and puffed and had a frown on. You do nails professionally, there is no way you can see that outcome and think it looked nice.. and the outcome still isn’t amazing. You should not pay $98 to not like your nails, it’s a sin, truly.
If you want nice nails, go to Lavo nail lounge in Woodbridge, or a private instagrammer klaws by Katie. Klaws by Katie is more expensive. Lavo is more affordable. Some pictures of my nails done elsewhere versus here.
Red nails- today at Angelina’s after asking for it to be fixed. Still uneven, blotches on fingers. French stilleto and pink- klaws by Katie Regular French gel- done by ME. A better paint job than a professional. Other red nails in...
Read moreI had a mixed experience at Angelina’s Nail, Hair, and Beauty, which is why I’m giving it 2 out of 5 stars. The 2 stars are completely for Phoebe. She was so kind and gentle during my pedicure. She took her time, was very attentive, and my toenails turned out beautifully. I really appreciated her care and would definitely go back to see her.
However, my manicure experience with Bella was disappointing. From the beginning, there was little communication, and the gel removal process was rough. At one point, she filed so hard that it cut my skin and caused bleeding. I had asked for an almond shape, but my nails came out uneven. Some were rounded, others misshaped, and the lengths were inconsistent. When I tried to explain, her response felt dismissive, and I ultimately decided to stop the manicure before applying gel because I wasn’t comfortable moving forward.
I’ve included photos of how my nails looked before, long and evenly shaped, and how they looked after. The difference is very noticeable and unfortunately not what I expected. Now I have to wait for them to grow out again before I can try with someone else. I truly hope they take this feedback to heart and do better in the future, especially in terms of care and responsiveness.
Update: the pedicure lasted less than a week (4 days) and I haven’t done anything out of...
