We just stayed from Friday 8/12/22 to Monday 8/15 a total of three nights. I was very concerned about how clean the room and Hotel would be because I had read a few very negative reviews on Priceline which is who we used to book this hotel. I called Priceline directly just last week and they gave us a good price for our room. We had a king size bed directly across from the outdoor pool. I called the hotel the day before we arrived and mentioned that I was concerned about how clean our room would be. The gentleman Rodg assured me there would be no problem. The Hotel lobby and corridors were well kept but they should replace the curtains on the windows around the pool they are a bit faded gold in color. We were quite releaved when we walked into our room and pleased that it was Very Clean! I brought a fabric spray disinfectant & a lint roll up which I used both on the bed immediately. Thankfully, There was NO hair that came off the sheets onto the lint roll! I then sprayed the entire bed sheets & comforter with the disinfectant. The Biggest Complaint that we did experience Is That This Hotel's Housekeeping Staff is Not Good! Everyday we had to call for towels and had to go to the front desk ourselves to go get them! Only once when we called they brought us 2 bath towels & one face cloth! Not enough for sure! We shower in the morning before we go out for the day and shower again at night before bed . We got no toilet paper or kleenex replacement for 4 days. Again we had to go to the front desk but were told they could give us only One Roll of toilet paper because they were short.... and No Kleenex because they were completely Out Of It ! This was Very Annoying to us......having to walk all the way to the front desk and walk back with a roll of toilet paper through the corridors! Housekeeping never came in to clean or change the sheets which we had put in a request the day before to have done! So On Sunday at 2 pm after returning from the pool we took the sheets off the bed & threw them & dirty towels in the hallway. I cleaned the bathroom sink, tub & floors myself ....with Comet w/ Bleach Cleaner we had brought there ourselves . We left our room at 3 pm and still Housekeeping had not come yet to clean anything! When we came back to the room late Sunday night the bed was finally made up with clean linens.. BUT no toilet paper, kleenex or fresh towels were replaced....all they did was make the bed! We are clean people and when we stay in a hotel it is important to us that the room & bathroom gets cleaned daily..... like we keep our own house. Before we ever stay here again I would hope that this Holiday Inn improves their Housekeeping & Room Services after seeing & reading the many negative reviews from recent guest experiences. Being this is a Holiday Inn there should be No Excuse for this! I guess IF we ever stay here again we will have to remember to bring our own bath towels, face cloths , toilet paper & kleenex too!!! Our suggestion this Hotel needs to hire more people to accommodate their guest needs. And for this reason we give this Hotel 3 stars out of 5 ! would have given it 5 out of 5 if not for bad housekeeping service because everything else was nice. The hotel itself has beautiful manicured grounds and a very nice Outdoor Pool Area open till 9pm. There is a pub with pool table & restaurant to eat & drink as well. The staff at the Pub were very nice. There is a...
Read moreOn Thanksgiving, the power went out in many small towns, including mine.. I went to this place, and they would not offer any sort of discount because of a local issue of power, but I did pay for a room.. I asked if the restaurant was still open( it was 8:00 pm on thanksgiving) and was told the sign says it is closed.. and its a sign on the floor about four feet away from the front desk.. I was told very few rooms were available( so they closed the dining and bar?) and took my room just wanting a heated room for the night, not knowing when JCPL would get the power back for me! The place is very old looking, and asking high prices.. Room was very old as well, and not very comfy. I spent the next few hours just trying to eat something from wawa and relaxing.. i went to the bathroom for the first time right before i went to bed, and the toilet never stopped flushing.. after 30 minutes, i went down to the desk to complain.. right away he had me in new room, I thought I was told they were almost booked?? I very quickly got ready for bed, and turned the heater on.. the sound was so loud from the heater, and since it was off, and the room was at high 50's from what thermometer said, took many hours to try to reach the 70 degree I out in, I was awake whole time.. I turned it off about 3:00 am, and tried to get to sleep, with in one hour it was so cold in the room woke me up.. at 7 am I just decided to wake up make coffee, and get ready to go home to shower( I knew the power was on now) before I had to be at work at 11:am. and I did place an 8am wake up call with first room, and when I transferred, I did tell the person make sure you put the wake up call to this room, which he said he will!?? never got it. I did not sleep more than two hours the whole night..I complained to the front desk about all this! and was just told by the two young female staff, ok we are sorry.. NEVER GO TO THIS PLACE! the insulation is horrible from what I had! And the heater is way too loud with noise! Oh and I pointed out to the morning staff how the parking lot was less than half full, but yet I was told they were almost full!!??? is this the lies they tell people to feel like they have to book the room before it gets full? And there was no sense of trying to be helping a local resident, (who might refer the hotel to a family member visiting in the future?) and be a helpful neighbor for the area? so sad Holiday inn is part of this small...
Read moreI've stayed at a lot of Holiday Inns for work and a few times for pleasure, Holiday Inn of Hazlet is by far the worst one of the chain that I've stayed in. The exterior has an appeal to it and the front common area gives off an upscale impression, but stops there. Just wish they would have saved some of the renovation costs of the entryway for the guest rooms.
Me and my girlfriend have stayed here twice, both times only because of the group discount offered for weddings which was still outrageously priced for the accommodations. The first time last year was horrendous, the room smelled and was dirty even though housekeeping had been through. Without much of a choice we reluctantly went back for the next wedding and nothing had changed. The second time the sheets were at least clean but still had the unsettling smell. The rooms are dingy and outdated, the beds probably original to the hotel, TVs at least updated but older than 10 years. The bathroom was clean, but at the same time disgusting with a ceiling that makes you claustrophobic. All towels and toiletries were present, but who really cares about that when you don't want to be in the room anyway. Our TV remote was held together using scotch tape, which you had to use to turn up the TV to drown out the obnoxious A/C. The attached club/grill was packed when we tried going there which we left 5 minutes later, but that can be good or bad. And then to top it off when I went to check out the staff was sure to inform me that the manager is rewards points to people who rate 9-10 stars in this review (I don't know if that's true or not) but to bribe guests this way is unacceptable.
Overall it's a shame that Holiday Inn has their name on this disaster. I've always enjoyed the IHG properties that I stay in but I hope I never have to stay at this place again unless it's completely renovated. We paid a lot for the two visits and even with the discount it is no where near the ballpark of the accomadations you get. I will never recommend this hotel to anyone looking in the area and I hope renovations are...
