A really awesome park for kids with a variety of toys for kids to play on. Also it has one of the best views I have ever seen at a kids playground. On one side it has swings and play structures for larger kids. The show piece is a tower that overlooks the bay and mountains. There is a water feature, a small boat, a climbing forest and more! On the other side of the playground is an area for smaller kids with a train and a smaller tower. They also have the smaller bucket seat swings. There is a play field for sports and a covered structure with a fire pit.

This is a nice area away from the crowded windy Homer spit but not too far to go down and enjoy during the day. Several of the camp and tent sites were... less than level! We had to prop our table up on a spare tire and a chunk of wood to keep eggs (and bacon grease) from running out of the pan cooking breakfast.

Had a great time camping here. It's more private than camping near the beach and there's a playground there for the kids to play at. It's also only $20 a night and you drop it off in a fee box. The only downside was the campsite was sloped at an angle. All in all highly recommend camping here.

Great location for access to Homer and the Spit. There is a variety of places to park a motorhome, camper, or even enjoy the Like's of tent camping in designated areas set with picnic table, fire pit and a nice park for kids. Park attendants drive by regularly in the day time which offers the reassurance in Bear awareness and wildfire prevention. Embarrassing as it is my battery died while I was there & after trying to get help for 4 hrs and becoming frustrated the park manager showed up to my rescue and was very kind, helpful and humorous when I was not so happy. I will be visiting again, I highly recommend the...

Absolutely beautiful. Well maintained and very clean. Lots of fun, sturdy equipment for kids suitable for a wide range of ages, sizes, and skills - even grownups. Places to sit everywhere. Plenty of parking. Grassy areas. Covered cooking/eating area. If you're lucky, you'll get to meet some of the locals. I absolutely believe that if you want to live in Homer you have to be an Olympian, artist, writer... A lot of talent lives here. And they're all so nice.

If you do get an opportunity to visit Karen Hornady Park, even if you don't have a kid or two with you, it'll be worth the time. This...
