This is the place to go if you love Poke! They have so many amazing varieties, it’ll make your head spin. They also offer other great items like sushi, musubi, bento boxes, fruit, and everything else you need to munch on. If you’re wanting to save some money, visit a Foodland location for your groceries or get food during your stay. Enjoy!

If you’re here for the poke, THIS Foodland had one of the biggest selections! Yum yum yum. We went to 4 Foodlands in Honolulu and outside of the city and this one had the best selection.

I would have given a 5-star because I love the deals they have on poke since we always go there for their poke. But, I was made to feel very uncomfortable while waiting to pay for our poke yesterday midafternoon. It was me and my husband waiting in line, which he is 6'3" and I was standing behind him holding my wallet since I handed my husband my Maika'i card and I saw a new manager that I had never seen before standing in front of the customer service counter, watching people. I noticed her looking toward our direction shifting her view looking to see what I was holding in my hand. I told my husband to move to the side so he is not blocking me, since she seemed to think I was doing something behind his back. She then walked down one of the cashiers walkway to stand behind us near the isle refrigerator. Initially, I thought she was going to do something else in the back of the store, until I just so happened to look behind me when another cashier was calling for a manager and she was standing and watching me right before she walked to the cashier in need of help. I WAS FURIOUS!!! Never in all my years (born, raised, and kanaka maoli) have I ever been made to feel uncomfortable or treated like a thief!!!!!! Why the F would I want to steal something in the cashiers line, that would be stupid?!!! Furthermore, what the F would I be stealing?!! I guess she thought I would put a $2 candy or something in my $3,000 Louis Vuitton bag, while holding my $900 Louis Vuitton wallet!!! I was SO MAD that when we got to the cashier to pay, I announced loudly while she was standing nearby, I'M PUTTING MY WALLET IN MY BAG!!!! She then acted like she was doing something else, PLEASE!!! I noticed another asian male manager was talking her like she is a great addition since she was acting like that!!!!! Well, being an ACCOUNTING MANAGER myself, she is not doing the store any favors. She is turning people off bc she thinks harassing paying customers is okay!! NOPE!!! I was SO FURIOUS that my husband had to listen to me all the way home!!! I tell you something, I will think twice about buying poke there when I can get poke in Mānoa. It maybe a little bit pricier, but they don't treat their customers like thieves when they are just standing in line waiting to pay. Moreover, I handle millions of dollars in cash at a luxurious resort in Waikīkī, why to F would I steal anything in that F'N...

The only marketplace that I know that has good poke. They make a two choice poke bowl with furikake and rice that is pretty tasty.

They have hanalei poi here which is expensive, but if you've never liked poi, this brand could change your mind. It did for me and I've lived in Hawaii my whole life.

They have some really amazing tasting chicken musubis at the deli that are really affordable (a bit too much rice, but the flavor of the chicken is just so damn good).

They have grass fed local ground beef wheels too, which is amazing. Try this over the pre-packaged beef, there is definitely a flavor difference. I tried to eat the packaged stuff after eating the grass fed Molokai beef for a while, and the packaged stuff tasted like cardboard in comparison.

They have like a 30 rack of eggs in a purple carton, which is a good deal for that many eggs, and they are smaller eggs which make it easier to portion how much you want to use.

A bit on the pricier side for non-food items, but they are one of the only stores with local food. You can get things like fern shoots, poi, taro leaf, local veggies and herbs, so this is a 'buy local'...

5/5!

Absolutely love Foodland! This review is mainly for their Poke, but I'm sure their other offerings are good as well! The Hawaiian grocery store has tons of selections to choose from, from fresh seafood, hot food and snacks. I'd highly recommend stopping by if you see one and browsing the store. It's different from what you'll see in the states.

I went here because it was recommended that the Poke was fresh and delicious here, and I was not disappointed. I went with the Spicy Salmon, Spicy Tuna and Shoyu Poke. Each Poke dish I had was delicious! From the freshness of the fish and the ingredients, it was definitely what I was expecting. And most of all, the flavor profiles were on point! All of the food was reasonably priced as well.

Overall, 5/5! Highly recommend. Maybe order a side of rice to pair with your Poke as well. It'll...
