9/2023: We’ve been here a few times since our last review and those visits were mostly good. However, on our most recent visit, we found that they have overhauled their menu. There is a reduced emphasis on their namesake “fun” dishes…even their famous Flying Noodles have been reduced to an optional upcharge in tiny text. The ala carte and appetizer menus also seem to have shrunk, including the removal of my favorite Curry Fish Balls. Instead, the rice plate section as grown, which introduced more standard Chinese options like duck and less standard options like curry rice. This shift in focus was confirmed when I tried to order my usual Seafood Chow Fun, but they said they’re out of noodles! All of this makes them less unique as a Chinese restaurant, so I have to knock off a star. 3/2023: Really good place to get fun noodle dishes. We got the beef flying noodle, seafood chow fun, spicy beef look fun, and curry fish balls. The flying noodles had a mellow taste, the chow fun had a stronger, saltier flavor, and the look fun had a very aromatic broth. All of them contained noodles with a delightfully chewy texture. And the fish balls were great too. Prices are higher than what you’d find at a typical Chinese restaurant, but these dishes are higher quality and the price is still good for the portion size. Service was ok in terms of speed but they only refilled water once at the end of the meal.

Update: we’ve returned again with friends from mainland. We tried several different dishes, such as bitter Mellon with eggs, thousand year old egg porridge, fish egg fun, flying noodles with beef and stir-fries Chinese broccoli (芥蘭)。 They were all very good and the service here remained friendly and caring. This is a great find in a tiny neighborhood strip mall, mere minutes from Waikiki. After today’s lunch, this place ranks as my favorite Chinese restaurant in Honolulu for comfort food. It serves Chaozhou styled food with a lot of stewed dishes (潮洲滷味)and other Cantonese dishes. We had the pork belly & intestine combo rice and chicken over cake noodle. The intestines were fried to perfection and the stewed pork was also very tasty, all served with fresh Chinese greens over a heap of rice. The chicken over cake noodle was also very tasty and we haven’t seen anything like it in Hawaii or California. For starter/desert, we tried the sesame cake balls that were delicious as well. The parking can be tight, but you should be able to find a space. The service was very friendly and quick. We are definitely coming back since it’s only a few minutes drive from home and so many items on the menu that we’d like to try.

If I could give a more detailed post, I'd give 5 stars to the service. The owner and his staff were very polite and hospitable. They were interested in making you feel comfortable. I really appreciate that. The food isn't bad. My family ordered a few dishes and they were decent. I liked the intestine. It was soft and tasty. The flying noodles were good for picture taking. I liked the thoughtful presentation. The sweet and sour spareribs were very good, especially with some potatoes in there. I was a little disappointed with the duck bucket rice. The duck was not served in the bucket, but as a separate dish. The duck in itself was good, but if it was cooked on the rice. The oil from the duck would have dropped into the rice to make it better. Now it's just like ordering the duck and the rice separately. There's improvement in the food, but I would still recommend it to anyone who likes Chinese food. Update: 02/03/2024 I went there again. Their menu has changed quite a bit. But I thought the food was still decent. The one thing that I appreciated the most was their service. The workers were very attentive and friendly. I had a good time eating there.
