We moved so we decided to have a vet who is closer to our new place but after this horrible interaction we are going back to Oahu Veterinary Clinic and never coming back here ever again even though if it was free! I had to bring my dog in because of his slight diarrhea bloody stool. They paired me with a fill in vet that we have never seen before. Her name is Tammy Heerkens. She had the worst attitude, extremely unprofessional, and was very impatient. Do not let her examine your animals! She was very annoyed with my questions regarding my dog. I asked her why she was talking to me this way. I explained to her that I am quite stressed and have questions because my dog has bloody stool. She said she was stressed too because I declined all the treatments that she offered but I only said my dog does not drink a lot of water when she said he needs a fluid shot. I did not decline the shot but simply was making a statement. She also suggested that he should get an anti vomit shot but he has not been throwing up for a few days. I did not turn down the anti diarrhea shot or the fluid shot so I don’t understand where her bad attitude was coming from. The whole time she was being very annoyed and bothered. Maybe she did not have lunch. She was also very rude to the assistant, Renee, and talking to her in a very condescending way in front of me. Our usual vet is Dr Wong who is an angel and very patient and why I came back to this clinic. I did not like this vet, Tammy Heerkens, and our interaction at all. I never had to deal with this kind of attitude when I go to a vet seeking for help. I walked out of the office and tried to ask for another vet at the front desk. She immediately chased me out and gaslighted me. She said I turned down all the treatments she had offered and that was not true. I asked her why she was so rude and also talking to Renee in such a horrible way. Renee was just looking down. This vet could not say anything because she knew she was rude and only wanted to ask me to leave. From this experience, I got that she is probably a problem for this establishment. She acted like a true ā€œKarenā€ and was not happy to help me and my dog from the get go. Full of attitude and was also annoyed that my dog had a necklace on right before she was trying to examine him. I saw her annoyed face and immediately took his necklace off. Isn’t she a vet and supposed to be professional?!! Why is she a vet if she was so annoyed of a sick dog?! She had no compassion for my dog at all and why we left. Don’t ask for Tammy Heerkens when you come here for visits. She told me ā€œI squeezed you in today!!!ā€ while she said she is calling the cops on me but with that kind of horrible attitude of hers I much rather she did not! She said she squeezed me in like I am supposed to deal with her unprofessional attitude. You are a joke!!! What a horrible vet and experience!!! Go see Dr. Antonides at oahu veterinary clinic. I highly recommend her! She patiently listened to all my concerns, answered all of my questions, and suggested great treatments and recommendations with GRACE and professionalism. My dog is doing amazing and you don’t want to pay someone here with this kind of attitude and zero compassion! She has a bad reputation out there! Just check her google reviews on Heerkens Veterinary Relief Services.

I had never experienced the loss of a pet before, and it’s truly the hardest thing I’ve ever gone through. I’m in tears as I write this—months after losing my baby. Back in January, our 15-year-old cat suddenly stopped eating. We later found out he had kidney disease, and within days, his health declined rapidly. It was a heartbreaking and overwhelming time—something we knew would eventually come, but still couldn’t fully believe was happening. The doctors and staff at King Street Pet Hospital were the most compassionate and accommodating people we could have asked for. I can’t even count how many times we called or emailed with questions—and they always responded promptly, patiently, and kindly. They were with us through every step, doing everything they could to support us and make our cat as comfortable as possible in his final days. I truly believe they gave us and our cat the best care during a very painful time. After he passed, they also took care of the cremation services, giving us a meaningful way to honor and remember his life. This might not be the typical review you’d expect to see on a vet’s page, but I just wanted to express how deeply grateful I am to the team at King Street Pet Hospital. From day one, they were amazing—and I wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone looking for a vet that genuinely cares.

Wow. That’s all I can say. King street pet hospital was the first place I took my puppy, Louie, over eight years ago. Since then, I moved to Mililani, and for convenience, we did our check-ups in Mililani for the past 5 years. My perfect little puppy recently and unexpectedly had to be euthanized. He took a turn and was suffering. I called everywhere. There was no appointment available. But when I called King Street Pet Hospital, they created an opening for me to come in to end Loui’s suffering. I work at a hospital. I understand the sensitivity in dealing with these incredibly difficult situations. Not only did they deal with it, the empathy each staff displayed was Beyond what I could’ve ever expected. They truly care. I can’t thank you enough. Afterwards, they gave me the option of how to handle him. We decided to have him cremated. Only a few days later, they called us to come and pick up his ashes. Even that was a moving experience. The doctor came out, hugged my girlfriend, presented the ashes, Loui’s paw print with a snip of the tip of his cute tail hair tied to it. I never thought I wanted it. Never thought I needed it. But they did. Thank you so much. Loui’s brother, Finn, will be resuming his checkups at King Street Pet Hospital for sure. There is no better pet hospital.

DON’T MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE I DID BY CHOOSING KING STREET PET HOSPITAL FOR YOUR LOVED ONES! NEVER AGAIN WILL I EVER SPEND ANOTHER PENNY AT THIS BUSINESS!! You are a RIP OFF, PRICE GOUGING, ONLY CONCERNED WITH MAKING EVERY PENNY YOU CAN OFF THE PAIN AND SUFFERING OF OUR FURRY FAMILY MEMBERS! This past Monday, while my family was moving house, a huge refrigerator fell and landed on my dog, crushing his leg and breaking it in multiple places, as evidenced by the bone protruding through his skin. I call ksph and tell them what happened, they tell me Dr Wong will see him and to bring him in. I get there, standing in the lobby with my 70lb dog in my hand, leg dangling and bone protruding, and after five AGONIZING MINUTES, I’m shown to a room. As we walk into the back, the vet tech tells me to go to the end of the hall to get his weight. UMM, he can’t stand due to the fracture, so I tell them that’s not going to happen. They take my dog to take some X-rays, come back and show me the multiple fractures of his tibia and fibula on an X-ray. And NOTHING! I ask, ā€œso how are we going to address this,ā€ only to be told that this is a special case and we need a specialist. We can’t do anything here. As I reply, ā€œso why did I come here for, why didn’t you tell me this in the first place, I could’ve saved time and money going straight to the specialist instead of coming here, spending $300 on X-rays FOR NOTHING!! I grab my dog and go running out to VERC. At VERC they ask for X-rays, I say that ksph has them. Ksph tells VERC that they will not send over the X-rays until I pay for the X-rays. Now I’ve been a customer of ksph for well over a decade, have ALWAYS paid my bills, and in this moment of complete urgency and chaos, their main concern is getting paid for the X-rays that the specialist could’ve, should’ve taken. This, and another example I’ll share with you all, will show you where their TRUE hearts lay. I have to buy medication for medical issues for each dog that I have. I have 2. I call to refill a prescription, the ONE prescription usually costing about $160-$170. I call to refill the prescription, it’s now $220. I ask why, I’m told that the prices went up. I ask Dr Mukai for a prescription, so that I can buy the prescriptions online for MUCH CHEAPER than I’m being charged. Dr Mukai writes the scripts for me. A few hours later I’m contacted by the front office of ksph. They tell me that they will ā€œmatch the price I was quoted online, but only this once.ā€ I tell them, ā€œwhy didn’t they offer this to me initially, why offer it AFTER I go through the hassle of finding the medication online, pricing it out, and sending the hard copy and payment to Allivet?ā€ I respond, ā€œNo thanks, I’ll go with Allivet.ā€ I know Dr Fujie and both his brothers, his brothers having been my teachers at Kaiser high school. Plus my cousin, having worked at ksph for years, were the reason why I chose them to be my vets. But over the years they have changed!! What once used to be a very loving and caring group of people, turned into a money hungry business. I get it, businesses are in business to make money, but there should always be some heart and soul in the operation. KING STREET PET HOSPITAL HAS NONE, THEY JUST WANT YOUR MONEY!! Go and find yourselves people who TRULY care for you and your pets!! PRAY THAT YOU NEVER FIND YOURSELVES IN MY PREDICAMENT. GOOD RIDDANCE TO KING STREET PET HOSPITAL!! MAY YOU REAP WHAT YOU SOW, AND MAY KARMA GET YOU A MILLION TIMES OVER!!

UPDATE!! KING STREET PET HOSPITAL RESPONDES TO MY REVIEW WITH A COMPLETE AND TOTAL LIE!! They say that they ā€œadvised me to see a specialist,ā€ but that I INSISTED on coming in to see them!! THATS A TOTAL LIE!! WHO, in their right mind, would rather spend 15-20 minutes holding their seriously injured dog instead of heading straight to an emergency room? I advised them, over the phone, what had happened. They told me to hold, came back and said Dr Wong can see him and to bring him in. Only AFTER they made their $300 worth of X-rays was I EVER told to seek an emergency room....

I have taken my Cavalier King Charles Spaniel to Dr. Nakamura at King Street Pet Hospital since she had her first series of puppy shots 10 years ago. Dr. Nakamura has helped us through regular check ups, teeth cleaning, dog bites (from another dog), ear infections, and most recently liver and heart issues. Dr. Nakamura is honest and knowledgeable in all situations. Plus she always has a way of making you feel that your baby is #1. Whenever I called the office Dr. Nakamura (or another doctor) would always call back the same day to address my concern. On this occasion Dr. Nakamura was on her regular day off and Dr. Goo called me in her stead. My dog was in distress and I didn't know it but Dr. Goo and her staff, Sheri, did. Following their strong recommendation to take my dog to the emergency at VCA Family Pearl City (see related 5-star review of the VCA) was the best decision I made for my girl. Sadly, she passed the next day but not after a team of wonderful doctors and staff at VCA and King Street Pet Hospital doing everything they could to help her. Upon learning about my dog's passing both Dr. Nakamura and Dr. Goo (mind you she is not even my dog's regular doctor) called to express their condolences and find out what happened. Just by talking with both of them I could tell how important their furry patients are to them. Dr. Nakamura's care and concern was almost palpable. There is also a male in their front staff who I've seen and talked to over the years who is so understanding, efficient, and knowledgeable all at the same time. I could not have asked for better care for my dog over the past 10 years. Thank you King Street...
