Great grocery store near UH Manoa. If you love Japanese cuisine, you can find all the ingredients you need here! Prices are a little high, especially for their meat selection, but it 's all high quality that you would expect from ingredients that go into a Japanese meal. They do have sales of all meats on the 29th of every month :)
I am also very happy with how they have protected their workers and customers since COVID-19 started. I think they are the best out of any place I've seen so far; enforcing customer count limits, plexiglass barrier for their cashiers, social distance enforcement, hand sanitizing stations and workers always properly wearing their masks and constantly santizing high touch...

they refused sel me that alcohol becuse I was with my step son. we bought 3 bags of rice so I needed his help. my step son is underage and they asked both of us ID.
and I asked the manager ish guy so if I can buy any alcohol even with my 8yo son and they said no.
I don't know if its thier rule but I think they should've said on advertise and didn't take him with me and only buy small stuffs.
there might be some peoples trying to buy alcohol for someone underage, but we are real family and we can prove that.
so if anyone thinking to buy any alcohol, don't bring...
Read moreI moved close to Pucks Alley specifically so I could live closer to this market. Hands down the best seafood marketplace on the island. The only place I know that has Ikura (salmon roe, larger, savory/ocean) and Tobiko (flying fish roe, smaller, crunchier, sweeter, cheaper), and tastes super fresh which is important. Better than the ala moana one imo.
They have really amazing and cheap Takoyaki, nice savory sauce with bonito. They have high quality frozen unagi (look for the $10-13 one), and really good unagi chirashi/rolls.
The mentaiko and konbu musubi are cheap and delicious...
