A Disappointing Experience at Regal Theaters
Visiting a movie theater is often an experience that many look forward to. It’s a chance to escape the daily grind, relax, and immerse oneself in a different world for a few hours. Unfortunately, my recent visit to Regal Theaters was anything but enjoyable. From the moment we arrived, it became clear that this outing would be more of a test of patience than a pleasant experience.
The trouble began at the concession stand, where the service was not only slow but frustratingly inadequate. After placing our order, we waited a considerable amount of time, only to discover that our order number was never called. We were left standing awkwardly by the counter, unsure of whether our food was ready. When we finally managed to get someone’s attention, it became evident that our order had been sitting there for some time, but no one had bothered to inform us. As if that wasn’t bad enough, my other half was handed a broken cup. This oversight not only reflected poorly on the theater’s attention to detail but also on their commitment to customer satisfaction.
When we finally got our food and made our way to the theater, we were met with yet another disappointment. The seats were cramped and uncomfortable, a far cry from the spacious, reclining seats that have become the standard in most modern theaters. Squeezing into the narrow seat was uncomfortable enough, but the situation was made worse by the fact that my drink had not been properly sealed, causing it to spill slightly as I tried to settle in. The discomfort of the seats and the poor quality of the concession service overshadowed what should have been an enjoyable experience.
The lack of customer care extended beyond the concessions and seating. When we entered the theater, there was no introduction or guidance, leaving us to navigate the dimly lit space on our own. This lack of basic hospitality made the experience feel impersonal and unwelcoming, adding to the growing list of disappointments.
The primary reason I chose to visit this particular Regal Theater was that I was seeking a location that wasn’t overly crowded. Having been under the impression that this theater had closed for good, I was relieved to find it still in operation. However, given the series of issues we encountered, it’s easy to see why this location might struggle with attendance. The theater’s lack of care in ensuring a positive customer experience likely contributes to its unpopularity.
In conclusion, my visit to Regal Theaters was a disappointing experience marked by poor customer service, uncomfortable seating, and a lack of attention to detail. What should have been a relaxing evening at the movies turned into a frustrating ordeal. The combination of these factors has left me questioning whether I would return to this location in the future. For a company that prides itself on providing a premium movie-going experience, Regal Theaters fell far short of expectations on...
Read moreIt’s been a super super long time since I’ve been to the theaters at Dole, so I wasn’t too sure what to expect. I ended up coming to this particular theater because The HAIKYU!!! Dumpster Battle was playing here on a Saturday (today) at 11:45 and that’s the only day all us friends could get together. Our group driver lives in Salt Lake so it was also convenient for us to meet at his place and then he can drive us all to Regal Dole. Since they validate parking, that was a big plus. The employees were pretty friendly, which was nice, but at the concession stand, the Pepsi/Coke Icee machine had BOTH red lights on so I ended with the Mountain Dew Icee. For anyone who knows me, not getting my Pepsi/Coke Icee gets anywhere an automatic two star ⭐️ rating drop. Plus, I was really sick for a whole week before and almost had to cancel today, I got better just in time so I was especially looking forward to a refreshing Pepsi/Coke Icee more than ever! We were seated in screen #14, seating area D 1-3, which I chose when I ordered the tickets online, were VERY uncomfortable!!! One member of our group is almost 6 feet tall so if my 5’2 butt was uncomfortable, his was worse. I saw him shifting as much as I was. After the movie we talked about it and he said it was very uncomfortable too. The movie was great, plus the fact that a trailer showing BLUE LOCK episode Nagi was hitting the theaters this Summer, made this disappointing experience better.
06/29/2024 Came Back to watch BLUE LOCK episode Nagi today. The Pepsi Icee was still not available 😑 the “Summer Snack Menu” I got the email for was not available, only the Caramel Glaze Pop popcorn. There was supposed to be: Funnel Cake fries Cinnamon Sugar doughnut holes Spicy Mozzarella sticks Garlic Parmesean fries Chicken Bacon and Ranch Pizza, and Caramel Glaze Pop popcorn (which I got) BTW. It was really good!! Yum. 😋 The rest of my family just had the permanent menu items which are the cheeseburger and fires and regular butter popcorn. I had a hotdog and Mountain Dew Icee along with my caramel glaze Pop popcorn. I forgot to mention, the lady that scanned my digital tickets on my phone and the young man at the concession stand, were very very nice employees so that was a huge plus. I enjoyed the movie in my very uncomfortable seats, but the bathrooms were...
Read moreRegal Cinemas Dole Cannery in Iwilei is a pretty decent theater with 2 premium screens(IMAX & RPX) & 16 standard auditoriums.
The IMAX auditorium is pretty decently sized with a fairly giant sized screen and featuring reserved seating but be warned that although the screen is larger than the other screens it’s nowhere near the size of the ones that feature 70mm projection which is the “original” IMAX format. Additionally, all of the seats here allow you slightly recline but not to the same degree as those seats found at award 16 or the new theaters in Kapolei.
The RPX auditorium, which is located at the opposite end of the concession stand is the other premium screen at this location. This also features reserved seating like the IMAX but the seats don’t recline at all. The screen here is also bigger than the standard auditorium screens here as well but it’s still slightly smaller than the IMAX screen.
The rest of the standard projection screens at this multiplex are decent but admittedly some are in much better shape than others. Worse yet, one of them has air conditioning that doesn’t work very well which makes watching movies on a hot day almost as bad as being outside. Some of the seats also have broken armrests and others clearly need to be refurbished as they lack any padding or cushion.
The concession stand here is alright. Like most modern multiples theaters, you can get a variety of snacks and food which include burgers & fries along with popcorn and hot dogs along with the usual assortment of sodas and candy. The prices are also about what you’d expect from a theater concession stand, so expect to lay out some cash if you choose to buy anything. The only thing they don’t offer here yet is alcohol or beer, which Ward 16 & the Kapolei theaters do.
All in all, if you live in town or nearby or even if you want to see a movie made in IMAX this is a decent theater to visit. The parking here is usually decent too because it doesn’t get as crowded as Ward 16 does on the weekend. Lastly, if you go here on Tuesdays, all shows are discounted which includes RPX & IMAX shows too. If you’re looking for amenities such as plush reclining seats with an attached table, this isn’t the place I’d recommend. Still, it’s a decent place to see a movie just don’t expect a lot of frills outside of their premium...
