We love going to Flexx Fitness! The facility is very clean and well equipped and the Coaches Chris and Debbie are the nicest people! Many young athletes train with Coach Chris. Many of them are swimmers (everybody wants to be a top swimmer like the coaches' son!), but I have seen basketball players, golfers, Jiu-jitsu athletes etc, who are doing very well in their fields. Regardless of what kind of sports they do, what coach Chris teaches them will be important for building muscle strength, endurance, coordination, and injury prevention. My husband told me that Coach Chris himself is a very famous body builder, so he knows how to train people/athletes very well. My son and daughter (11 year old twins) are swimmers and they have been training with Coach Chris for approximately 6 months. My son is always the smallest (skinny and short) kid in his age group, so he wants to build strength and endurance to keep up with his team mates. Despite his physical disadvantage, the training with Coach Chris made him physically and mentally stronger and he cleared the standard time for the regional swim meet. My daughter was not very competitive and she even struggled with her daily swim practice due to lack of endurance, but, after she started training with Coach Chris, she became stronger day by day. Recently she cleared the State Championship standard time, so she is very happy (we, parents were surprised and happy, too)!! Coach Chris always encourages the kids before and after the meets, so they feel mentally supported whether they do good or bad at the meet. He will teach kids about nutrition, too. On Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday, Coach Chris has a youth athlete group training session, so if your kids prefer the group lesson, there is an option to do so. The membership is very reasonably priced, so many parents, including me train themselves at the gym while they are waiting for their kids. We feel very fortunate to get to know Flexx Fitness and appreciate help from Coaches Chris, Debbie and...
Read moreFlexx Fitness is a great gym for those who are in the market for a casual and beginner friendly gym. Below are pros and cons. Thank you for your time.
Pros: -Good equipment, everything is clean and most things are in working order; -Good employees. Employees are great people and accommodate to the gym goers needs. -Lots of weights. There are tons of weights here. Enough for everybody. (keep in mind the weights are mainly kg) -Supplementary equipment. This gym has items like a scale and a blood pressure monitor for those who like to keep up with their metrics. -Good prices.
Cons: -Lack of barbells. This gym only has 2 power racks. For most this is fine but keep in mind if you are a powerlifter. -Hours. If you workout in the morning or during the day you will have no issues, but latenight lifters will struggle due to close being strict at 8pm. -Locker rooms. There are no locker rooms or changing facilities. There is a public restroom located outside of the gym in the mall next door. -Maintenance issues. Treadmills cap at 10mph and will violently shut off mid stride if exceeded. (trust me this is not fun the first time it happens)
Once again, overall Flexx Fitness is a great gym. I hope you find this review...
Read moreDebbie and Chris are amazingly motivating, compassionate and encouraging! I canât say enough good things about them. Debbie has been working with my teenage daughter (competitive swimmer and water polo player) for about 1.5 yr. I was concerned about her starting to strength cross training for her sports as sheâs not a land athlete and struggles with her coordination on land. We reached out to Flexx Fitness as we knew they worked with kids (other swimmers) for some one-on-one training to teach her proper form/balance before my daughter started to lift on her own/w a school athletic program. Debbie has been incredibly motivating for her. My daughter loves training w her. She also has taken the time to research movements specific to water polo, determine where her weaknesses were and recognized an issue with her feet and encouraged us to take her into a specialist to get help addressing the issue. We love seeing all the young athletes in their facility working on their balance, explosiveness and coordination. They do a great job at teaching proper form, motivating their clients, and making it fun...
