Compared to other lounges, this is old, many of the seats have long since passed their sell by date, with collapsed seat supports. As for the ability to charge a device, out of the four usb blocks I tried to charge from, only 1 port out of 16 worked. When I say worked, I say this in the loosest possible terms. It is barely able to submit enough current to maintain battery on my galaxy s21. Take the same cable outside to the 'public ports' and fast charging awaits....look like I'll have to charge up before my flight outside.
Food... some form of meatball 'curry' where I initially thought it was a mistake as it was sweet. Weird experience, a sweetened curry that is obviously not a dessert or a sweet 'n sour type affair.
The greeting when I turned up was epically meh! Bordering on rude. Take out card (priority pass) and in doing so was told unapologetically-"oh prioritypass, you'll have to come back a 7.15" I pause expecting an apology and a reason/excuse. Nothing until I prompted, "we got quatar business class".
Some basic maintenance, upgrading is desperately needed. I hope that training/reinforcement of how to greet tired travellers would go some way to desensitise folks who arrive at the 'lounge' coupled with being a face of Air France not a great experience 🤔 It is a shame that the klm louge was closed foe maintenance, I can only hope that this lounge follows...
Read moreAugust 2024 Update: AirFrance has updated food options with beef stew, egg bites, cakes, brownies, and cheese. Platters
Food: The AirFrance lounge in IAH's Terminal D has 4-5 selections available including pita and hummus, charcuterie board, hot soup, fruit salad, regular salad with dressing, and a hot entree (e.g., beef meatballs and rice) and/or tasty quinoa salad. There are also grab and go snacks available as well e.g., bags of lays chips, trail mix, nuts, and fruit. I quite enjoy their quinoa salad but find overall the food is nothing to write home about.
Seating: The lounge offers a good amount of seating (armchairs and sofas in the sitting area and bar table and dining stools by the food area) but also hosts a decent volume of patrons. As a result the lounge often feels fairly full. There are charging ports but whether they charge your device is another question.
Other: Unfortunately, there isn't a restroom within the lounge and the restroom right outside the terminal is usually not in great shape .
Value: For folks with complimentary entry, the lounge is a solid option and definitely beats paying top dollar for frozen and reheated airport terminal food but otherwise, I don't believe it worth the typical lounge access fee.
Service: The staff are always friendly - smiles all around and keep the food options...
Read moreA Disgraceful Experience – Avoid at All Costs! My recent experience at the Air France lounge in IAH was nothing short of a disgrace, and it certainly deserves a one-star rating. I arrived looking forward to using the lounge access that comes with 3 of my premium credit cards, only to be stone-walled by staff who clearly couldn't care less. We were informed, quite dismissively, that they wouldn't accept guests until after 5:30 PM, and that the lounge was "only for business class" until then. Kidding me? My boarding is at 5:15 PM. What an absolute joke this lounge is AND I SEE WHY THEY ARE IN 2 STARS. THE ONLY LOUNGE WITH THIS LOW RATING ACCREDITATION. 👏 The place was practically deserted, yet they actively denied entry to paying customers. It's obvious the staff have been told to only entertain business class guests, regardless of how empty the lounge is or how many other paying customers are waiting outside. This isn't just bad service; it's a shady business practice. I've already reported this to the authorities because it feels like a complete rip-off and a misrepresentation of services. I wouldn't be surprised to see this establishment closing its doors soon, and frankly, it should be shut down. Save yourself the frustration and avoid this lounge...
