Elite Pickleball’s Unethical Business Practices: A Breach of Trust

Elite Pickleball (the "Company") has engaged in and continues to engage in unethical business practices by overpromising and underdelivering on its commitments.

Misleading Advertising & Membership Promotion - In an advertising email promoting the Elite Annual Membership and Diamond Annual Membership, the Company marketed an offer of ā€œTWO MONTHS FREE!ā€, with the expectation that the new Heights Elite-16 facility would open in mid-August. This created the impression that new members would have immediate access to the new facility. However, the facility did not open until mid-October, two months later than originally communicated. Failure to Accommodate Members for Delayed Facility Opening - A significant number of members enrolled in the ā€œTWO MONTHS FREEā€ promotion, but due to capacity limitations at the original facility, the majority were unable to utilize the promised two free months. When members inquired about accommodations for the delay, the Company refused to offer any compensation or adjustments. Overcrowding & Poor Capacity Management - Prior to the expansion, the original facility had 8 courts, and the general capacity limit for open play was 65 players, ensuring reasonable wait times between games. With the new facility’s 16 courts, the logical capacity should have increased proportionally to 130 players (8 courts x 2 = 16 courts; 65 players x 2 = 130 players). However, the Company set the new open play capacity at 150 players, resulting in significantly longer wait times. Contradictory Statements on Wait Times - Members were previously assured that the expansion would eliminate wait times, as reflected in a past Company response to a review regarding long wait times:

ā€œThank you so much for your feedback. Open play is one of the reasons we are expanding to 24 courts—a wait time won’t even exist at that point. We totally understand your frustration and will continue to improve Elite Pickleball Club to provide you with the best experience.ā€

Despite this statement, wait times have worsened following the expansion. Inconsistent Open Play Management - Furthermore, the Company has provided inconsistent service during open play. At peak times, there is often no staff member managing the open play stack, creating confusion and disorganization. To ensure a fair and efficient playing experience, a dedicated staff member should be present at all peak hours.

Ultimately, Elite Pickleball appears indifferent to member concerns because the majority of memberships are paid one year in advance, reducing their incentive to address complaints or...

Parking is HORRID! But I did have a great time. When I said horrid, I mean that from the depths of my soul and I feel like I’ve hardly seen a review that has mentioned it, so I will. The parking lot was huge and completely packed. People circled it like vultures, stalking those who were leaving to see if we could snatch their space. There streets were lined with cars to catch the immense overflow from the parking lot. I recommend arriving no less than 20 minutes before you need to be there. I was also told by staff that this is how it is every single night.

Now for the facility itself, it’s def some serious pickles in that place. I’ve gone to cutesy pickle places where it was more chilled vibes: this one is def not one of those. But being around such great athletes encouraged me to be better, even though I was simply there for the beginners class.

The class was FREE, which I loved. You cannot cancel online within 24 hours. The class fills up quick, it seems like there’s often a waitlist, and you can only take it once. You get the basic rules of pickleball and then you have essentially the rest of the time to play. It’s fun! But guidance when the actual playing is taking place would have been nice, but again, it’s FREE. So I was grateful. They also supply you with a paddle for the beginners class so no need to stress order off Amazon.

Keep in mind that there’s 2 buildings: Elite 8 and Elite 16. 9/10, you’re going to 8. The other seems more for comp and the real deal professionals.

Now— will I come back? Maybe, if I’m with a group of people and we book a court. I likely wouldn’t come back for open play due to the fact that I suck and will likely embarrass myself. But! If you are wanting an intro course or you are serious about pickle, def visit. Just remember to arrive...

I attended a free intro class at Elite Pickleball Club today in Houston, TX, and I can’t say enough good things about our instructor, Easton! As a complete beginner to pickleball, I was a bit nervous, but Easton made the experience incredibly welcoming and enjoyable. His ability to explain the rules of pickleball was outstanding—clear, concise, and easy to follow. He broke down the game’s fundamentals, like scoring, serving, and the kitchen rules, in a way that clicked instantly, even for those of us who had never picked up a paddle before. Easton’s teaching style is engaging and patient, ensuring everyone in the class felt confident and included. He was hands-on throughout the session, offering personalized tips and encouragement while we practiced. His passion for pickleball really shines through, and it’s clear he’s not only a skilled player but also a fantastic coach. Beyond the on-court instruction, Easton was incredibly knowledgeable about Elite Pickleball Club’s offerings. He took the time to explain the membership options, highlighting the benefits like discounted court rates which made it easy to see the value for frequent players. He also shared details about the club’s lessons, clinics, and open play sessions, tailoring his recommendations to our group’s interests and skill levels. His enthusiasm and willingness to answer all our questions made the whole experience feel personalized and informative. I highly recommend Easton to anyone looking to learn pickleball or join Elite Pickleball Club. His expertise, approachable demeanor, and dedication to helping players of all levels make him a standout instructor. I’m already looking forward to my...

It's in the name "Elite". It means that the facilities are top notch: the courts are great and there are no pillars in the way which is a common issue for indoor facilities but many places are like this. What really makes this place truly elite? Come to any of the open play sessions, especially the ones that are not fully booked and are thus not managed. Here you will realize that this place truly is elitist. Paddles are not usually stacked up and games are organized amongst regulars, keeping a tight knit group of people that monopolize the courts and play amongst each other. If you're new to the group, good luck finding an opening to play. This is especially true if you are not an advanced player. There is also no sense of community. No one talks to each other during the down time but then they will be quick to admonish your style of play. It's a highly competitive environment which seems to be counterintuitive to the culture of pickleball. Perhaps this place caters to highly competitive, retired tennis players. The open play experience here is very different to other locations in Houston where a collegial environment prevails. Also, because of the lack of insulation on the outside walls, this place is extremely noisy.

Well organized sessions with friendly staff with good player dynamics in terms of competency and diversity. Was visiting from Singapore and play a mini competition called ā€œCream of the Cropā€ and won! Would definitely return for more games or tournament in the near future. P.S I’m still waiting for my podium pic to be uploaded on your social sites 😜
