Terrible treatment of people who need food. The man Kris talked to me like a dirty dog today. I only come here when I absolutely have to because they do show favoritism toward certain people. If you go with someone else they will treat you like you only need crumbs. I can't believe the way I was treated & usually I help the community with food. I'm usually the one giving food to people but today I went to receive food & it was a shambles. I NEVER BEEN talked to so badly by a volunteer in my life. I can't believe that is what people have to go through just to receive food. This place has been here for years & I rarely come here but I do always refer people to coming to the food pantry. I had no idea they were mistreating them this badly by talking to them disrespectful, coldhearted & unprofessional. I don't know who this guy Kris thinks he is but he shouldn't be working with teenagers at all. I am highly disappointed !!!God would be too. You are not suppose to treat people like they are dirt when they are coming to the church for help!!!!! That is not Godly behavior, holy behavior, saved behavior or NONE OF THAT!!!! THE PASTOR SHOULD BE DEEPLY & GRAVELY CONCERNED ABOUT HIS CONGREGATION ACTING LIKE THEY ARE BETTER THAN ANYONE. What are they teaching the members there is the real question because just because your helping at the food pantry doesn't make you a cheerful giver. Especially when you have a distasteful attitude and nasty tone of voice toward the needy. Jesus wouldn't approve of what happened to me today. It was no reason that I should have had any issues getting food today. I highly suggest going to a different pantry because they will give you more problems than food here. I highly doubt 1 box of food can feed 2 different families. It took 45 minutes to get through the line it was like they gave only enough for 1 person not even a family. Meanwhile it was crackheads pulling wagons & shopping carts full of food down the street trying to sell it near the corner. And actually families like mine went with a half of one box. They gave me a box with distilled vinegar and a melted ice cream sandwich. What will I really do with that when I needed regular bread to make sandwiches for the homeless & for my own family. That was stupid. They had pallets of meat , cakes and produce I received carrots and a bag of kale salad mix. But with all that suff out there we didn't get nothing really so don't get excited when seeing the pallets. Probably the volunteers end up with the majority of the meat because we didn't get ANY meat unless the beef stew is meat & the 1 bread we got was hard baguette bread. You can't make sandwiches or anything with that so I went to ask if I could possibly get a loaf of bread & damn near got cussed out by Kris. That has to be a reflection of the pastors teaching because why would this guy be allowed to be a volunteer acting that way. I'm disgusted by the way I was treated because I ALWAYS help the community with a GOOD HEART AND GOOD ATTITUDE. Someone needed to expose Kris & the way he is handling the less fortunate right in front of the teenagers. What is even MORE SICKENING & SAD is that the one teen girl immediately grabbed a loaf of bread & was trying to make things RIGHT she had the caring idea & the RIGHT IDEA. She was ready to serve the Lords work & help without judgment UNTIL KRIS immediately SNATCHED the bread away from the young lady & told me NO I DIDN'T NEED IT. I am disgusted at that man being a part of the food pantry. I'm absolutely embarrassed for the people who go there looking for real help & get talked to like shit or don't get the help they advertise online. I can't imagine how they treat the people who need prayers or showers that would not be a good idea to go here. It was an extremely long line to be talked to that way. I absolutely believe the other reviews that the people were mistreated and talked to badly. The issue NEVER got fixed either so it's not like I feel any better. And now I know don't refer this place unless you hate...
Read moreThis might have been a good place before years ago but now it's not what a church is meant to be. If you do not like people or want to serve the Lord do not volunteer to be there. The negativity that comes from the people that are there is overwhelming. If you are dealing with issues in your life where you need assistance they make it more difficult. This isn't a good place anymore. The reviews are all 5 years old or YEARS old but the current situation is grim. There is no authority in this church. The Pastor doesn't know what is going on behind his back but it is very disheartening. God will eventually bring it to the light because the mistreatment of needy people is wrong. Everything is a money grab and more than likely this church is over funded through grants. Under a thorough audit of the products and dates they are being given out the state would clearly see they misuse the funds & donations provided to them. It isn't safe and making the community sick. This is a place that will give elderly, handicap and pregnant women spoiled out of date items. I'm wondering is that what the Lord wanted them to do? Soggy salads , spoiled soft stinky potatoes, moldy strawberries & out of date bread just to name a few items that are appreciated but not needed or usable unless it's for fertilizer. The Pastor is very nice during the mini Bible studies but unreachable by the phone. He more than likely isn't aware or just doesn't have control over what's happening. Prayers for him because he is elderly and I'm sure it's overwhelming dealing with so many things. Although he is multitasking the congregation there is a much needed look at the human services department of the church. Whoever is answering the phone is making the church look very bad. This is not the 1st time that I had issues with the way the ladies act like they own the church. In reality the church belongs to the Lord and His work is being done half stepped. Either be there with your whole heart or just go home. Don't do it for clout do it for care. Some of these reviews currently are so very accurate they treat people badly. We are poor in our pocket not in our spirit come on. Treat people humane and not like your better than anyone. They need to allow people to speak up and have an opinion about how things are going. It's a shambles and a embarrassment to the Word of God. There is times to reflect and that...
Read moreI just took advantage of the Wednesday night (6:30) Impact Church Food Pantry. I was amazed at the huge bounty of food Impact gave a single man, like myself. I was offered a trip through the clothing donation room, though I declined. The most memorable aspect of my visit was the community discussion we had prior to walking through the clothing donations or food distribution. Chris lead our small group of 9 small families. Chris explained Impact's food pantry program. Then Chris gently drew the focus of our conversation to God. Now, I am agnostic with a deep aversion to having 'religion' forced upon me. However, Chris did not push hard, nor condemn me for being an outspoken agnostic. Nor did our small group rally against my beliefs. In fact, I had a short conversation with Chris outside the pantry and I was impressed with his lack of condemnation or over zealous witnessing to me. Thank you Chris and your entire...
