Iām extremely upset and disappointed with how my husband and I were treated at this store. While buying groceries, we picked up a piece of produce that was already broken, but we still decided to buy it. When we got to the cashier, she didnāt speak English and began accusing us of breaking the produceācompletely false.
Things escalated when the security guard got involved. Instead of helping, he was incredibly rude and disrespectful, accusing us over and over again of damaging the item and trying not to pay for itāeven though we clearly had it in our cart and intended to purchase it. My husband kept calmly explaining that we didnāt break it and we were already going to buy it.
Shockingly, the security guard then said that even if we didnāt break it, we should still bring the broken pieceāand that we shouldnāt buy it without it. That doesnāt make any sense. In American grocery stores, thatās not a rule. In fact, if anything, you should get a discount if the item is already broken. What if the broken piece is lost or damaged? Are we not allowed to buy it anymore just because a part is missing? That logic is completely unreasonable.
Eventually, my husband had to ask to see the camera footage to prove we didnāt break anything. Only after that did the security guard finally stop harassing us. My husband paid for everything, and we leftābut not without feeling disrespected and embarrassed.
This isnāt the first issue weāve had here. Iām also tired of constantly finding expired food on the shelves. Between the poor customer service and the questionable food quality, I will never be returning. Save yourself the trouble and shop somewhere cleaner and...
