I wish i could give negative or zero star! I have had a terrible experience with LA Fitness. I got a membership with them and Josh (the club membership guy) told me that i have 3 days to cancel it if I am not happy with the gym. I met the training manager Adam the day after I joined to show me around. well, he basically wanted to sell their training program to me. he told me if i don't start the training program I will have a heart attack in less than five years and i will die soon! i am not kidding. I understand that they need to get your attention to encourage you to sign up! but terrify someone, I am not sure that is the right way to do business. I told him i will think about the training program. he got mad and aggravated that i did not sign up. and that was the first and last time i was in this gym. i called right after i left the building to tell josh to cancel my membership. I called 3 times in 3 days and left messages for him. I did not hear back from him. I called on Monday and told them if Josh won't call me back I will dispute the charge on my credit card. the lady said" oh I just saw Josh walked in!!!" I talked to him and he said he already canceled my membership! Liar. I have been getting calls from LA Fitness almost every week asking me to pay my balance. there is no balance! I have talked to many people in that facility and they keep telling me is already cancelled and the other people didn't know how to do their job! or that person you talked to earlier is no longer with us! terrible customer service, the gym stinks, and they are total scam to get your money. the operation manager is very rude. she called me and didn't let me even talk and said that we just cancelled your membership (after 30 days that i called them many times) and I have to pay $119!!! I called corporate and I am hopping not to hear from them anymore. Alissa in corporate office said she will talk to billing department to clear the...
Read moreAdd on to review, 1/27/21: There is about 40% of people not wearing masks. It simply is not enforced. I have to really strategize to keep away from them, since you can be asymptomatic and infect others. I also fear for their health, but what can I do? I have asked the front desk to reinforce the mask policy and he announces something on the intercom, but everyone has head phones on, so it's useless. I am very, very disappointed, but I must exercise for my health! This is a very nice, well equipped gym. It is a little bit of a hassle getting into and out of, as it is located inside the Costco complex. The gym is kept clean and neat. The receptionists are friendly. One word of caution. I signed up with a guy that told me he was the manager. I asked for and received assurance from him that I would not have to pay a renewal fee each year. Because I was opening two memberships, I felt that was a fair discount and would save me $100 per year. Each day I went in I would ask him for my contract with the discount. Once he told me he had to discuss it with "the VP", another time he said he sent it (he didn't). I started to smell a rat. After a month I had not received a receipt for the money I paid, or a copy of the contract. Turns out "Mr. Manager" wasn't a manager at all. (Why someone would look at me in the face and lie is beyond me). My contacts with the Corporate office only referred me back to the REAL manager. She said she could not honor the discount promised to me. Gee thanks. Nice to meet you too. So, having started my relationship with the gym on a very negative note, I say, "Buyer Beware". It is not at all extraordinary at all for discounts to be offered to new clients, especially when there are two memberships being purchased. I just wish I had not been lied to from the onset. It started the entire experience on a very negative note. Whoever this guy is, he should...
Read moreThis gym is okay but it’s not something the deserves the “signature” designation. I have been a LA fitness member for over 15 years and used to go to this gym for several years in a row before leaving to a different LA location and returning early this year. They seem to have an issue keeping towels available for some reason and the cleaning wipes run out constantly. However, the gym is clean overall and staff is pleasant but they have a major issue fixing broken machines and sometimes they just get rid of things completely instead of fixing them. If you see a broken machine you might as well forget about it for several months and hope they don’t just remove it. For example, they used to have 3 leg extension machines and a single leg ext. Now they have only 1 leg extension, which has been broken for 2 months and has no signs of being fixed and one single leg extension which is one of the most poorly designed pieces of equipment I’ve ever used. The fact a supposedly premium (“Signature”) gym would only have 1 leg extension for the entire gym in the first place is wild but then on top of that they’ve let it sit broken for 2 months. There’s also a glute extension machine that has been broken since at least March 1. They did fix a leg press but it took them multiple months to do that. At LA fitness in general seems to be impossible to get ahold of anyone with any authority. If you put a message through the app you get a generic email back apologizing saying they’ll fix it with no estimated date. If you call the customer service line on their website it brings to the front desk of the location closest to you. When I call the number I was given for the help desk for complaints I was put on hold for 20 minutes and then hung up on. My generally feeling based on this is LA Fitness the company doesn’t really care much...
