Pokeworks — Restaurant in Houston

I stopped by Pokéworks on Richmond and Wesleyan today, and I’m genuinely so glad I did. I’d been planning to just swing by Salata—usually overpriced and underwhelming—but something told me to try something new. From the moment I walked in, Rayah greeted me with a warmth that immediately set this place apart. She was incredibly knowledgeable about each of the restaurant’s fresh, vibrant ingredients, patiently explaining every base, topping, and sauce. As someone completely new to poké, I felt guided instead of overwhelmed, and her gentle persuasion helped me build what might honestly be the best meal I’ve had all week.

Adam, who prepared my bowl, brought the same energy that makes a restaurant feel less like a business and more like a community. He cracked jokes, laughed with me, and somehow managed to turn a stressful, draining day into one that ended with me smiling over salmon and seaweed. His joy in his work was contagious—he made the experience feel human, not transactional.

This location is my go-to spot for poke since it's very close to my house. The service is always great, but my cousin and I were especially impressed with Adam and Nevaeh. We went there on Saturday 12/14 for their Buy One get One free event at around 5pm. It was drizzling at the the same so there were not many customers in the store.

Adam helped both of us assemble our bowls. He was very friendly and patient as we made our choices. Nevaeh helped wrap up the order and at checkout. The entire process was easy, thank you both!

I love that Pokeworks has spring mix as a base option, and the mix looks & tastes fresh. Protein options are pretty standard - I usually choose either tuna or salmon or both. Started going to this location thanks to DoorDash, but now it has become one of my favorites to have some dinner right after work. The staff is extremely friendly and welcoming. Antonio does an amazing job and makes sure his customers feel at home and get anything they need. Overall the energy of this location is the people that work there!
