First time going to Michael’s , I placed an online order that took over 3+ hours to get ready. I called 2 hours after placing my order to check on the status , and the lady that was on the phone with me said that they were working on the order . I asked her to see if she had the product in stock , because I had checked online for a different store that was closer to me and it said they had it in stock and when I went they didn’t . So I asked the lady if she was able to check and she didn’t want to, and I let her know that I wanted to know ahead of time because I needed the product by today and she just told me that it will notify me via email to let me know if they had it in stock or when it was ready. I call back after more than an hour later of speaking to her and not receiving any updates on the order, and asked to check the stratus , all she said “i’m working on orders right now “ . After 30 more minutes I receive an email saying my order is ready for pick up. Once I get there I ask an associate on assistance on picking up an order , she just points me to some bins . And wasn’t friendly or offered to help . I didn’t see my name on the pick up bins and a different employee ask for my name , and had my product laying on a counter and just handed it to me with no bag (keep in mind the item wasn’t small nor a HUGE item that can’t fit in the bag) staff was unhelpful and unfriendly . Also store was more than 30 minutes away from me , so it would’ve been helpful if they let me know if they had the product in stock because they also let me know that my order was ready and hour before closing . when i had placed it HOURS BEFORE THEY CLOSEDD so they had enough time to get it ready or notify me if they didn’t have it so i could check...
Read moreOk, so, I visited the store last Friday, February 16th, in the afternoon for the first time to get a paint-by-number kit. Unfortunately, there was no greeting when I entered. Despite my excitement, I noticed an older white man with gray hair following me, and other associates in my aisle seemed to be pretending to stock shelves.
As I took my time exploring and budgeting, I saw a sale sign. The main associate following me assured me that all items were on sale, but later, I discovered it was only buy one get one 50% off for ARTIST LOFT brand items. Despite the confusion, I happily shopped and picked up four paint by number kits within that brand with other sale items.
However, the constant surveillance continued, and even my 4-year-old guest noticed. At the checkout, the cashier lacked enthusiasm and customer service skills. When I inquired about the prices, she insisted they were regular priced, but after paging the associate from the floor, the confusion escalated.
The associate that was following us come upfront, confirmed that many items were on sale, but at the checkout, he claimed only the brushes I had were on the sale list. This discrepancy, coupled with the unwelcoming experience, led me to leave everything and exit the store, frustrated is an understatement. My son was heartbroken! To avoid discrimination and create a friendlier environment, diversity and inclusive training are crucial for this whole staff. My initial experience with Michael's was a nightmare, and I won't...
Read moreToday I went into the Mika store on Bissonnet, and I was getting some dye for my sons T-shirt. I went to check out and I noticed all the new self-service checkout stations. When I asked one of the associates named Lisa she may have been a manager there if she could check me out, she rolled her eyes and walked over to her register, and checked me out with an attitude. I could tell that she was bothered that I asked her to check me out at the end of checkout. I told her I was sorry that I upset her by asking her to check me out she then looked at me with a attitude and said you did not upset me, but it was clearly written all over her face, and her emotions with her actions that she was upset that I asked her check me out. And said she did not have an attitude I talk to her very calmly just so that she would acknowledge that she was upset that she refused to, I just think it’s kind of rude the way she handled it she could have kindly check me out just because they have machines doesn’t mean I have to use them I’m a customer coming in to pay coming into bye and there’s nothing wrong with me getting self service to purchase my items. I just hope Lisa doesn’t give everyone the same attitude when I asked to be checked out. It’s just not right. I did nothing wrong to her.
