I'm going to start this off on a positive note before I complain about all of the awful things I experienced.
This place is very organized and clean, it looks very trendy with the way it is decorated and it has a good variety of different styles and eras of clothing. Their vintage clothing was in great condition at reasonable prices, and I found some items that appealed to my taste although I didn't purchase anything.
I didn't purchase anything because most of their current, "trendy" items were over-priced for secondhand/altered clothing. I include 'altered' because some of the items very clearly have been altered by their previous owners. Which I get since it is a new/used/recycled clothing store, but to price them that high for something someone cut up with scissors is kind of ridiculous.
I was disappointed in their shoe selection as well. They didn't have anything appealing to me, and the few items I found were priced $30+.
I looked around the store before I brought out my clothes to sell, which was the sole purpose of my trip here, because that way I could get a feel of what kind of items they buy.
I looked through the pricey stuff as well as the $1/$5. I figured they'd want all the stuff that still had tags and look new, to which I felt relieved because most of the stuff I brought was in pretty good condition. The t-shirts selection had a lot raggedy looking items and things I would honestly just throw away; I found shirts with stains and holes in them. The $1-$5 had mostly garbage items. There were a pair of silver/grey fake leather boots on display in the $5 section that were peeling and rugged, very dirty looking, flopping over, and just very obviously ready to be discarded. I'm only pointing this out because at this point in my trip I'm feeling pretty good about the stuff I brought. I figured they'd buy at least half of the things I was offering, which seemed like a pretty good deal.
But I was terribly wrong.
I asked one of the girls who looks the friendliest, because honestly none of the staff seemed approachable, if I could bring in my clothing, she agrees and I bring my stuff in.
So when I give them my stuff they tell me to wait about 15-20 minutes. I continue looking around during that time. I ended up waiting for 40+ minutes, which wasn't all that bad considering it was a busy day and I figured they would need time to look at all the clothing I brought. But I was very disappointed when they told me that they had an offer and I am just shocked to see they only picked out about 4 items from the whole suitcase I brought. I asked them if that was all and they said yes, then they go on to explain that the stuff I had wasn't in good condition.
Explain to me how shirts with stains and holes in them and garbage boots are in better condition than the things with tags and things I maybe wore one time that I brought in?
They offered me $21 and at this point I'm so upset I just took the money because I didn't have the energy to argue with them about it.
Staff was unconcerned with greeting any customers, held their own conversations while 'attending' other customers, if you can call it that. No one smiles, no one offered help or assistance. Most of the girls seemed stuck up and unapproachable as a result. I am almost certain they didn't even bother to look through my stuff because everything was packed exactly as I had placed it. The staff is lazy and have poor work ethic.
I'm not saying this place doesn't have it's merits, because there were a few highlights from my experience here, but all of the negative aspects severely outweigh any of the positive ones. Honestly this place is overrated, and I would not recommend selling here, it is a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreDO NOT SHOP AT THIS STORE!! If you like paying $15 for a used Walmart tee shirt you could buy at a local family thrift for $2, youāre at the right place. If you like paying $60 for cheap wholesale shoes that will last you a few wears and hold no resale value, youāre at the right place. If you like waiting in line for over 20-30min because there is only one register open, then youāre at the right place. If you like water leaking on you from the ceiling while you shop, youāre at the right place. If you like to sell and be ripped off your vintage valued items and offered little cash, youāre at the right place. If you have questions or concerns and enjoy spending your time speaking with a TERRIBLE MANAGEMENT TEAM? This is your type of store. Sad to say I once loved this store for the reasonable pricing, great environment, and amazing staff/management. Zac, Quinn, Arden, Kike, and Evelyn were always so helpful, warm and welcoming to me. Such a wholesome yet professional group of young people. Unfortunately the store has took on a complete new management team, who have shown to be completely unprofessional and unqualified for their work titles. Which is a bit alarming, considering the new GM ALMA seems to be pushing well over the age of 40yr, youād think time teaches all. There is a manager named Jazz that Iāve noticed has worked for the store for more than 2yrs, who spent over 15min struggling to issue me my store credit and needed assistance from a sales associate to walk her through the process. Disappointed to see a once good company die due to terrible business management decisions. HOWEVER There are a few other secondhand thrift shops not to far from the area I highly recommend In replacement: Buffalo exchange Thrifty threads Out...
