Miyabi Sushi & Ramen — Restaurant in Houston

Went to this establishment a total of 3 times. The very first time it was quiet and empty. My family were the only ones there. Service was very friendly. Food was amazing and portions were generous. Went a second time and it was semi packed(tables were available but not enough seating to sit my family together as other families were spread apart) others volunteered to slide over so that we could fit at a table together. The host proceeded to tell them no and that we could wait. We immediately left and went to the restaurant next door. Went back today because the food was so good and maybe the hostess had a bad day. Nope, today was totally empty again and her attitude was horrible. The table that was prepared for us were not enough seats and when I told her she act like she didn't hear me. It took the other person working with her to tell her. We sat and never received menus or anything. When we decided to leave she finally comes from behind the counter and say she was waiting for my mother in law to come out of the restroom. Not sure what that has to do with the other 4 of us looking over a menu, but it could have been stated instead of...

Unfortunately, this was one of the worst restaurant experiences I've had in Houston. I never leave reviews (check my profile) but I'm astounded by how misleading this restaurants rating is. Full disclosure, we ordered only sushi but the other two tables all ordered ramen so maybe the sushi is just not their strong suit but I felt it is my duty to warn others... If you have to eat here, opt for the ramen. While the service experience was a series of comic errors (hot sake served in old clear plastic shooters, the server knocking over a drink at our table, 1 of 3 entrees not driving to the table) I would have normally overlooked this if the food was tasty. Unfortunately, the peppered tuna was dry and flavorless... As was the tiger eye. I wish I could share how the salmon belly was but it was never brought to the table. No hate to the folks working here but it was not worth...
