Saturday my daughter was excited about trying this new place called Hungry Like the Wolf, we arrived a little before 2:00 and were told there was an hour wait and to check in every 15 minutes. Well after seeing people park and go right in and be seated one right after the other, my wife checked back inside to see where our name on the list was, the hostess told her there was no list and at the moment there is no wait for a table, seems the hostess was away and a waitress had told my wife the erroneous information, we're easy going, no problem, we got seated right!. Well first i must say that the ambience is electric and fun/cool, a real 80"s vibe, music videos playing all around a Breakfast club mural and a snapshot collage of the Goddess that is Phoebe Cates in her red bikini from Fast Times At Ridgemont High.....Tilt! This is where we go downhill again, our waitress after about sitting there 10-15 minutes without one, finally comes to our table apologizing for the long wait, but she just had gall bladder surgery and she was just getting back to normal, she spent about 5 minutes telling us about her story, I'm getting pretty thirsty and hungry by now, finally we put our orders in, my daughter had asked for a frozen margarita, tick, tock, tick, tock, tick tock, while our food had arrived, my daughter was still waiting on her drink. We asked the hostess who was right directly behind us and the bartender came out very quickly and explained that the machine was down and it takes about 30 minutes for it to restart, she offered a drink on the rocks which was then brought over by one of the managers I think. while the food was ok, nothing to shout about my burger was luke warm and had no real taste to it, my wife said the same thing about her huge fried shrimp meal , it was more bland than anything. Needless to say, not the best experience, but the vibes were very cool and by the way her margarita was comped which was a nice gesture, by the way the table next to us had a similar experience with the same waitress who totally screwed up their bills, I really hope it was just a bad day and maybe coming back to work to early...
Read moreCame in a few days ago, a party of three, and I thought this would be something different to try. The reviews and pictures looked great. We came in and the server that took us to the table (probably lunch close?) great energy and really nice. There were only a few people in there. We had a different server and service was hot and very cold - came a ton at the beginning for drinks then not at all. The food was not good at all especially for the prices. We got the sampler - really salty, dripping in grease (onion rings were really good though!) ranch was meh and marinara was really sweet like there was sugar added to it. My friend got a sandwich and she said it was horrible. I split the burger with my boyfriend and the fries were good but the burger had no seasoning no salt no pepper - nothing. It tasted like they were making a plain meatloaf and changed their minds and made burger patties instead. Moving on - I get when it is really slow you have to keep busy, find things to do, and sometimes it's boring (I've been a server and bartender before). However, there were way too many people staffed - everyone congregated by the bar and kitchen just talking, on their phones, eating, etc. which is why I think it is just unacceptable to have had such bad service with that many people standing around doing nothing and only having 3 tables in the whole restaurant. The manager (I assume) was just randomly sitting at different tables on the floor not doing anything - it was kind of weird. There were a bunch of staff member that kept going out front to smoke every few minutes. They didn't wash their hands or anything after. After we had already finished eating, we noticed one of the bussers went out front again to smoke, came back in and was congregating with everyone by the bar and he started picking food out of his teeth - went right back to work. That's disgusting. I could have gotten some nostalgia by going to House of Pies or going to Denny's and ordering a grand slam. It would have been better service, better food, and about half...
