6 Stress-Relieving Things to Do in Houston 🌈 Save & Check In for Relaxation 🎈

Our group of 9 did the Timeliner game and it was the coolest escape room we've ever tried! Definitely recommend it and will be coming back next time we want to do an escape room. The staff is the absolute sweetest and best there is! My, then boyfriend, worked with them and my sister to set up a surprise proposal in one of the rooms, and everything happened so seemlessly. I could not have wished for a better or more exciting proposal. They paused the timer for a few minutes so that we didn't have to worry about finishing the game while we took a few photos and videos, they helped us take additional photos after we finished the game, handmade and signed a congratulations card for us, and sent us home with a couple goodies, too! Also, I was SHOCKED as my fiancé offered to tip them for all their help, and they politiely declined!!! That's not something you see anywhere here, so it was really nice to hear, and really nice to think that they did all this extra work for us just out of kindness. Thank you again to Ryan and everyone there that day for making our engagement feel extra special. If you want to try a fun escape room experience with the BEST service, PLEASE consider this location. It's worth every penny. (And buy some cute merch too if you want to support them even more hehe)

SO CHALLENGING, SO FUN! My 11 year old daughter has been begging to go to an escape room for so long. With today being her birthday, it was the perfect day to do it! I researched every place in the Houston area. I selected this location due to location (knowing it was classy) and the room options are impressive and also not something that is scary. We went with the playground room. Do not think for a second that this means it’s not for adults. It was so hard we couldn’t even finish the escape! My daughter LOVED it, and we were set up with another group with two daughters the same age. My 4 year old also joined, and although she was not able to participate effectively, she sure had fun thinking she was helping with finding clues ;) Very thankful for the kindness and professionalism from Willem. He really knew how to introduce our groups together to make us comfortable and also went out of his way to make a minor glitch right. We had a great experience and look forward to coming back and trying another room! ———————— Update: came back on 7/30 and tried the “gold rush” room and my hubby came. He loved it! Plus he’s super competitive so this is right up his alley for things he likes to do. Can’t wait to come back to try the hardest room as a date night

I originally left a 2-star review after a pretty disappointing experience with "Timeliner: Train Through Time." The room felt flat, way too easy, and lacked the immersive challenge that my son and I usually love in escape rooms. It honestly just did not feel up to par, and I walked away assuming that was the end of our time with this company.

But then something happened that completely changed my mind.

Just a few days later, I received a personal message from the assistant manager, Elijah. Not a copy-and-paste apology, but a thoughtful and sincere note. They acknowledged my review, apologized without deflecting, refunded our game in full, and invited us back for a private experience to try and make it right. I have left plenty of reviews in my life, but I have never had a company respond with this much honesty, care, and professionalism.

So we decided to go back and give them another shot. My son Jude and I played "Prison Break," and this time it was absolutely fantastic. Genuinely immersive, challenging, and a lot of fun. We did not manage to escape, but it did not matter. The experience was such a night and day difference that we immediately signed up for another room afterward, this one on our own dime. We played "Gold Rush" next, even though we knew we would be paired with a few other players. Thankfully, they turned out to be amazing people and excellent teammates. We could not have asked for better strangers to share a game with.

After all of that, the General Manager, Stephen, personally reached out to follow up and thank us for giving them another chance. They even offered to make any future games private for us if we ever wanted that option again. That kind of follow-through, that level of genuine care, is rare. It was clear they were not just trying to save face. They actually wanted to do right by us.

What started out as a major letdown turned into one of the most impressive displays of customer service I have ever experienced. They took ownership, responded with grace, and completely changed the way I view this company. My son and I will absolutely be coming back for more.

Huge thanks to the entire team at The Escape Game Houston. You did not just turn things around. You made a lasting impression, and we are...

My friends and I sped ran through five different escape rooms this weekend, and I can't say enough good things about our experience. Huge shoutout to Stephen, Elijah, Lauren, and Emily for being such fantastic hosts--they truly made our visit memorable!

Playground (5/5) - Clever puzzles, nostalgic theme, but tough for smaller groups. Recommend minimum 3 people.

Heist (4/5) - My favorite! Not as linear as Gold Rush/Depths with tons to do. Perfect for ADHD folks who enjoy bouncing between tasks. Recommend minimum 4 people

Special Ops (4/5) - Challenging puzzles, especially at the end. The theme was spot-on - it felt like we were in an action movie, and I loved every minute of it! Bonus to Escape Game for using real, arabic numbers.

Gold Rush (3/5) - Linear and easy to follow, best for 1st timers. Unfortunately, we ran into a technical issue with the 5-word lock. We had the right word, but the lock just wouldn't budge. It would be great if they could update that.

Prison Break (3/5) - Hardest room imo. Great theme, teamwork-heavy puzzles. Some of the clues felt worn out and past their prime, which detracted from the overall experience, but still good. Recommend minimum 4 people.

(Review for the other games offered by City Centre I've played before)

The Depths (3/5) - Good room design, but puzzles lacked flow. The unique ending mechanic makes it worth a try.

Time Liner (5/5) - Highly immersive with modern screens. My favorite themed room. Best for 2-3 players. More than that gets too crowded.

KEEP IN MIND you might be paired with another group unless you buy out the game. For a more private experience, try to visit during less busy times, like weekdays or after 10 PM.

Overall, I highly recommend this place, especially for those new to escape games. It's a great way to bond with friends and unleash your inner detective! I've done all of them now - can't wait to travel to other Escape Games to try theirs...
