I got unlucky when I came in for the yard house experience today. First off, the appetizer was mid. I came during happy hour it’s not even THAT busy they make the place look so busy when is really not. I’m also a server myself so I understand, but I got this server guy name Paul. He was giving me a terrible service, I confronted him and ask if we have a problem? Bc I didn’t have no problem w him asking me for my ID in order to get alcohol drinks. Mind you I had my ID in my car but I’m not gonna walk all the way in the parking garage to get my ID.. so I tell him I have a picture of my ID in my phone bc I forgot to bring it w me, he said no it has to be in person. Ok, in my mind I have No problem w it at all.. No big deal. But when the appetizers came out, the other server has to bring it to my table instead of him, and my cousin got a bug in her alcohol drink. Not once he came to check up on us or ask if we good or need anything else.. very rude, not so demure. He only cleared out the plates we done off the table when he came by but didn’t approach us any service questions. I tell him he ain’t checkin on us wassup w it do we have a problem? He got the audacity to say “ well I have other tables that he has to run to also.” In my mind.. I’m like oh! so I’m not your customers? I’m also “other table” that you gotta serve.. if he didn’t wanna serve me and my cousin he could have just tell the other servers to serve us instead. We don’t need that type of energy when all we do is giving good vibes only and tryna eat and have a lil drink.. He called the manager to come over.. which she only hear about me vent about that problem, honestly every where I go I’m a great tipper even if that place food isn’t good. I tip base off ppl service, I have never deal w this issue before, this is my first time that I ran into a server that was being rude to me when I didn’t cause any trouble. In my head I’m wondering “who shts in this guy cereal in the morning?” Can’t be me. I ain’t do none. The other server were being kind to me tho, which I appreciate that. I told him he never ask if I needed anything else or even a check up, I only order appetizer ONLY I was planning to order a meal, but w that type of service and energy I rather go somewhere else. They also get upset when I just sips off my cousin alcohol beverage like… is never that big of a deal. Ratted on me to the manager lmao y’all must not wanna make no tip money that day. Btw, I was just trying it out if her mix drink were good but they barely got any alcohol in there lol so stingy w the drinks geeshhh. I’m being kind and give out 2 stars it should have been zero...
Read moreEven though its an awesome location and has a great vibe w/open seating & their dynamic menu that hosts a variety of mouth watering, pallet pleasing delights I am giving it a 3 after our dining experience. CONS: I was excited to host my husbands birthday here & requested a table for 12-14 people for 7p. I notified the hostess 60 min prior to my arrival that 4 of our guests wouldn't be arriving until after 8pm. No problem... However, once we were seated at 7:36 one of the managers began circling our table & asked me, "Where are the rest of your guests?" Mind you we only had 5 empty chairs at this point but kindly informed him 4 others were coming from far North & it was now pouring. He proceeded to pace back & forth along our table then called over another server, whispered in his ear, pointed to his watch then pointed at our table & walked away. At 8:02pm he came back, checked his watch and said, "So....??" Wow! It was very uncomfortable, not to mention of all the neighboring tables around us w/4-6 people & empty seats he didn't approach ANY of them. My guests were annoyed and he really took away from our dining experience especially when our friends had never been here before & traveled from all over the Houston/Humble/Katy/Kemah/Cypress areas to attend. Oh & lets not forget the water that was dripping from the pipes above our table... Did he ever apologize or acknowledge that? NO!! Not once! So much so that two of our guests kept getting water on their shoulders and had to sit sideways to keep from getting "condensation from the pipes above the bar", as we were told, in their food & drinks. PROS: Our server Aaron was AMAZING!!! He knew the menu well, made great suggestions and beverage pairings. He was accommodating, great humor & had superb customer service. I would consider coming back just nevause good seevice is hard to find. Also, thanks Sydney as well!! She was professional and made sure my table request was fulfilled. It's a shame that these two great individuals were overshadowed by the unprofessional and what seemed to be subjective motives & actions of...
Read moreFirst time to this Yard House, party of 10, no reservations, showed up around 7:45pm, got sat within 15 minutes (on a Saturday night at a loud, popular place in City Centre, almost impossible for this to happen in less than an hour). I don't contribute a lot of reviews--only if something extraordinary happened, or something completely terrible. Justin, our server, was so on point, I felt obliged to add a glowing review. It's been a long while that I have experienced a server so professional, calm, and never skipped a beat between his tables and our 10 top. From getting all our drink orders (and re-orders), fulfilling special order requests, very quickly resolving minor errors in the order (fries instead of sweet potato fries), splitting our large check into accurate groups the first time. I can go on and on, but just had to say it was SO refreshing to have a server that was on point the entire time. I shared the Poke Nachos (so I could compare with Pacific Coast Tacos' Yellowfin Tuna Nachos). While I prefer PCT's larger tuna pieces, I preferred the lighter "chips" here, making it easier to bite through the "chip" without everything falling apart, and all the garnishes on top added to the overall flavor enjoyment with every bite. I also shared the Truffled Mushroom Pizza, added chicken. While each slice wasn't stiff enough to hold its own, understandable since mushrooms continue to seep moisture and the sauce was slightly on the heavy side, BUT every bite with a fork was just as enjoyable as if I was holding the entire slice up. I got to try someone's Crispy Brussel Sprouts, and they were seasoned well with a light crisp and has some heat on the backend, also enjoyable. No one at the table complained about their food, no re-fires needed to happen. Yard House has now become a place we will...
