Norris Conference Centers truly made my full-circle moment unforgettable. I went from being an attendee at my very first Small Business Expo as a brand-new full-time entrepreneur just last year—to now being the keynote presenter for the Speed Networking Workshop in their luxurious ballroom. And let me tell you, it was beyond what I could have imagined. Let’s talk about why the Norris Center stands out: 1. Location, Location, Location! Nestled in the heart of City Centre, this is the perfect venue whether you’re planning a wedding, hosting a business conference, or organizing a networking event like mine. You’re surrounded by hotels—ranging from high-end luxury to budget-friendly—and everything is just steps away. 2. Post-Event Collaboration Magic If you know my events, you know the connections don’t stop at the ballroom doors. Because of the Norris Center’s prime location, our workshop easily flowed into happy hours, dinners, and spontaneous collaborations at nearby restaurants. This venue doesn’t just host events—it extends them. 3. Natural Light + Beautiful Design This is not your typical stuffy conference center. The Norris Center has big, open windows that let the sunshine pour in. It truly boosts your energy when transitioning between workshops. Add in their sleek décor and multiple conference halls—you never feel boxed in. 4. The Food & Service We started with breakfast, transitioned to a light lunch (no food comas here), and ended with a dessert I’m STILL dreaming about—strawberry-topped cake that looked as good as it tasted. The catering staff was top-tier, warm, and attentive. 5. Tech Support That’s Actually Supportive I had a minor tech issue with my HDMI cord, and within TWO minutes of asking, a staff member arrived and solved it. If you’ve ever presented at a major venue, you know this level of responsiveness is rare. 6. Wi-Fi that Works—Really Well As a speaker, my sessions depend on attendees having reliable access to Wi-Fi. Norris Center delivered. Everyone was connected, engaged, and able to participate fully. No glitches, no awkward pauses—just smooth connection and impact. 7. Space that Serves Real Entrepreneurs The breakout areas were designed perfectly for us to step away, take business calls, or get work done without feeling like we were leaving the event. That kind of thoughtful design matters, especially when you’re juggling multiple roles like most entrepreneurs. Whether you’re hosting a major event or looking for a Houston-based speaker (hey, I’m available!), Norris Center is now one of my top recommended venues. I can’t wait to come back. I attended the Houston West Chamber of Commerce's event, West Houston Economic Development Summit in January 2019. I've was able 400 people that attended. The was 4 breakout seasons, a main hall for vendors and use of the large conference room. The place was organized, clean and prompt service. The lunch of steak, potatoes, green beans and cheese cake was on point. A fantastic event from an operation standpoint! 1/24/2020: Went back for the West Houston Outlook 2020 conference. Great space. Good temperature in the breakout rooms and ballroom. Food was good. I enjoyed the pastries and juice. The chicken for lunch wasn't that great. Still recommend this place for conferences. We had about 320-350 people that attend.

This was my first time speaking at the Norris Conference Center. I have been here before and will be back for another conference in June. The staff was amazing. After seeing how seamlessly the SCORE Conference went, I will be sure to share this location with others looking for a conference venue. We had a terrible experience at Norris Conference Center on July 12, 2025, during what was supposed to be one of the most special days of our lives—our engagement party. The banquet captain, Luis, was incredibly rude and unprofessional from the moment we arrived. When I asked him for water to place in the pans to keep our food warm for the evening, he sarcastically replied, “I’ll get it out of the sewer.” That kind of response was not only disrespectful, but completely unacceptable in any professional setting.

Throughout the night, Luis watched over us as if we were inmates instead of guests. He made everyone feel uncomfortable, as though we were being monitored and not welcome. His attitude and lack of assistance made the event stressful instead of celebratory.

The poor customer service didn’t stop with him. When we contacted the manager that following Monday to report Luis’s behavior, she immediately defended him without any real investigation. My fiancée was told that someone from corporate would reach out to us about the situation—unsurprisingly, that never happened. It felt like they were just trying to brush us off and protect their own instead of taking accountability.

This was our engagement celebration—a once-in-a-lifetime event for me and my future wife. We can’t get that night back. Instead of creating joyful memories, we were left feeling disrespected, dismissed, and deeply disappointed. I would not recommend Norris Conference Center to anyone planning a special event. Their staff lacks professionalism, their management lacks integrity, and their service is far from what any guest deserves.

My experience at Norris Conference Center on July 12, 2025, was a complete disaster, and the way management handled it made things even worse. After being treated rudely by the banquet captain Luis—who made an offensive comment about getting water “from the sewer” when I asked for help—we reached out to the manager the following Monday to report it.

Instead of taking our concerns seriously, the manager lied to me and my fiancée. She told us that corporate would be involved and that someone would reach out. That never happened. I even asked her if we could speak directly with someone from corporate or be part of the investigation. She said she would “handle it” and claimed she conducted a full investigation. But she never spoke with either of us, never asked for our side of the story, and clearly wasn’t interested in resolving anything.

This was our engagement party—a night that was supposed to be memorable for the right reasons. Instead, we were disrespected by staff and lied to by management. Their version of “customer service” is just covering for each other and sweeping issues under the rug. I would strongly advise anyone thinking about hosting an event here to...

Attended an all day conference here today. First impression was not great. There are two main reasons for 3 stars.

  1. Google map pin takes you to the wrong location when you type in the address. After walking several blocks in high heels, trying to actually find the conference center, we weren’t off to the best start. Innumerable people complained about not being able to find it, which made them late. Suggest putting Z Gallerie or Sur La Table into your GPS to actually find the conference center.

  2. The chairs were so uncomfortable, it was the talk around every water cooler all day long. Towards the end of the day, innumerable people chose to stand (many in high heels in the back), or sit outside on the sofas because the chairs were so uncomfortable, it was intolerable.

The positives: once we found location, it was easy to find our conference room inside. It’s a typical conference center, nice looking and overall in good condition. The staff were prompt, helpful, and kept the food and beverage stations stocked and orderly. They cleared tables timely so we didn’t have a bunch of dirty dishes sitting out. Bathrooms were close, well cleaned...
