As far as the brand I love Tecovas. Bought my first in 2017 and still wear that pair the Shane in grey suede. I replaced the soles at least 5 times and have taken them throughout the world and on many vessels for work. I have ranched, hunted, and slaughtered with those boots. The only downside is that they are suede so when I'm cutting timber in East Texas with several inches of water flooding my feet will get wet. I wore original soled Earls in Amsterdam, Hamburg, and Copenhagen during the winter months and the soles are slippery. But my only complaint is when I visited the store location in Houston off 10 and Beltway. I went for the Monterrey in bison and driving there was not fun but the salesman said on the phone that my size 11.5 EE was there on location. I ask for a set aside and no luck the guy said he would but didn't. There was no 11.5EE bison Monterrey. The salesman showed me a pair in the warehouse online and we ordered immediately and I was promised the pair within the week. Nothing happened, no emails or word one. I called the customer service line to get the bad news that there wasn't a pair to be shipped. Bad inventory control, poor customer service via location, but the sales rep Sarah on the phone was nice and handled my first world problem professionally. I'm fortunate to have 4 pairs or ropers and one Monterrey in honey suede cause I am a brand loyalist and these boots live up to my lifestyle. I bought several pairs for my family too. I will continue to order because statistically the service is ok but the boots high quality. I hope that they never change QA and manufacturing practices. Just get more Monterreys in bison and I'll be...
Read moreThe reason why it’s getting a 1 star is because the whole time we were there we had to chase down the employees to get help. I went with my boyfriend with the decision that we were going to make a purchase so we knew we weren’t going to waste anyone’s time. We went around 4pm on a Saturday so it wasn’t like they were closing soon. From the moment we walked in we noticed about 4 of the workers not doing anything and just standing around. We started looking at the boots and no one approached us to ask if we needed help and my bf had to go up to one of the employees if we could get some help. We have visited a tecovas store in Austin so we know that they offer something to drink and this time they didn’t meanwhile there were other clients that were trying boots on w a drink on hand. When we were ready to check out we were standing by the register waiting to see if any of the employees would come and ask if we were ready and they never did. I even made direct eye contact w one of them and before i could signal them to come help us she turned around really quick and acted like she didn’t see us. My boyfriend had to then go up to her to ask if she could check us out. We also got the boots branded but only bc we had knowledge of them doing it for free but they never asked us if it was something we wanted. The people we got help from were nice but ultimately made it seem like they would rather be doing anything else but help us. Will never return to...
Read moreMy experience at this retail location really put a damper on my outlook of this brand. I went in to purchase a cowboy hat and as I entered the store I was met with stares & a non-welcoming atmosphere from the staff on-hand. There was no "welcome-in" or any sort of acknowledgement considering the store did not have many patrons keeping the staff busy. I helped myself to find where the cowboy hats were located in the back of the store and found the one I wanted to purchase. After about 15 minutes of holding the item I wanted and looking around to find an associate I was still not assisted. It was only when I was able to flag down who I assumed was the store manager that I was able to ask a question about my possible purchase. But then after he allowed me to look around the Hat Bar & came to the conclusion that this was the item I wanted to purchase, I had to flag him down across the store, walking by all the other associates who once again would only glance at me obviously looking for assistance. I finally received the cowboy hat in the size I needed and was able to make my purchase. I even attempted to reach out to Tecovas privately, but I only received the same copy/paste message they give every negative review.
